Just did the opposite last weekend......want to see the MT wild life at night before I hit it
Don't get me wrong, those LEDs were nice, just not what I prefer. The high beams would make roosters crow 2 miles away.
Finally got a few things done today... wiring for compressor/lockers and winch is done and functional and my 8274 winch rebuild is complete and mounted. The main goals were to have a tidy and robust installation and to drill no new holes. So, I made a new bracket for the (Northstar marine) battery and attached a piece of GPO-3 on which I mounted the BlueSea relay and fuse block for the winch, and a circuit breaker and relay for the compressor. I made another bracket for the compressor and mounted it using an existing hole in the brace on the firewall and the empty voltage regulator bracket. I also installed a Tuffy center console and built a switch panel for it to hold the switches. I used the "aux" hole in the wiring harness grommet to route the wiring to the switches.

First step down the hole. Back when I rebuilt the engine for the PO in the mid-nineties, I swapped in a fresh pair of terminal blocks to replace the OE. Well, when I removed the overflow tank yesterday and saw what the replacement terminal block looked like almost 30 years later, I just had to do it again!When you get to where you’re going down that hole, make sure you post pics. It’s a rule....
12 year run on a temp engine is a pretty fair stretch....

Your question reminds me of a humorous event back when I was working in an underground experimental complex in Nevada. Everyone was required to wear a self rescue breathing kit and a flashlight while underground. At one point during final test preparations one of the scientists was checking a connection under a table and needed more light, so he asked "Anyone have a flashlight?". So out of habit seven flashlights were unholstered and turned on in an instant, mine included.Anyone have an extra flashlight?

The 8274 looks incredible. Did you upgrade the selenoid pack? If so, mind send over a pic of the wiring of the plug?

Another fun project finished up, aside from wiring it up and spooling the cable. Haven't decided on the cable type yet, synthetic or cable, any suggestions on the type of cable for a winch that will get light use would be appreciated from the pros on MUD. If anyone has a quick diagram of how you wire the 5 pin plug, battery and albright pack they could post up I would greatly appreciate it. Electrical is not my thing

Thanks. What cable are you going to spool that badboy with?
I decided to go with 3/8" synthetic. Apparently I can wind 95 feet of it onto that spool. Need to find a cover for it too, or Pacific Northwest rain will be soaking it.
