Let's get some thoughts on this, black line is where I'm thinking to cut and put the tail gate. Anyone have any input?

I think I would go a little shorter, like 6-8 inches... maybe just to the right of that tie down loop? Just my thoughts. But depends on how much bed space you might needLet's get some thoughts on this, black line is where I'm thinking to cut and put the tail gate. Anyone have any input?

not too worried about bed space, its coils in the rear so its never going to be heavy work horse. would rather get the aesthetics right.I think I would go a little shorter, like 6-8 inches... maybe just to the right of that tie down loop? What about stretching the wheelbase, lol. I like the longbed.not too worried about bed space, its coils in the rear so its never going to be heavy work horse. would rather get the aesthetics right.
Hmm, I went back and forth on stretching the wheel base some in the beginning of the build and ultimately decided against it, although, I still might depending on some other things. What about stretching the wheelbase, lol. I like the longbed.
I was mostly pulling your leg, quick and easy is way better than setting up your suspension again. Where does lining up with the rear frame crossmember with the tailgate land you?Hmm, I went back and forth on stretching the wheel base some in the beginning of the build and ultimately decided against it, although, I still might depending on some other things.
However, extending the wheelbase won't change the rear overhang unless I move the wheel wells
Haha, I know, the scary thing is it's not entirely guaranteed that I won't have to, but I'm doing all to avoid it.I was mostly pulling your leg, quick and easy is way better than setting up your suspension again. Where does lining up with the rear frame crossmember with the tailgate land you?
So I have to ask. What frame and drive train underneath?Let's get some thoughts on this, black line is where I'm thinking to cut and put the tail gate. Anyone have any input?

What are they getting for these starters, I imagine they are gear reduction? Thanks
GR=gear reduction. I paid the stealership approx $140+ core. What are they getting for these starters, I imagine they are gear reduction? Thanks
Haha, knew some one was bound to ask. 2nd gen hilux surf chassis, which gives me torsion bar IFS and coiled 4 link rear. Then it's a 1uz vvti and 5 speed auto out of a LS400 and mated to the surf tcase. So I have to ask. What frame and drive train underneath?

To my eyes where you have the black line is just about right. In proportion to the heavy styled front end on these trucks any shorter to me would look too short.
Thanks for the input guys. I guess one thing I still need to consider is how will it look with the roof on. With my 1st 45, it had a short cut bed, looked great without the roof on and a little tall and ungainly with, so I need to try and balance it with this one.I think I would go shorter on the rear too but go with what ever looks good to you.

and help solve my high drive shaft angle issues too... ahh manHonestly, as much as it would suck to do (or not, I think it would be fun), I'd push the rear axle back about 6". It would probably give you slightly better proportions with a top.
