Normally I agree, but with the bull bar up front and the customer rear bumper and tire carrier, I think an after market front bumper will fit his style nicely. Tuck that bumper away for the future if you ever decide to return to stockStock is beautiful!

Fabricated and installed a new lead from the '82 Tercel igniter to the FJ60 distributor in my '76 FJ40 a few weeks ago. We flat towed the FJ40 to the first annual Land Cruiser Unite event at MERUS Adventure Park SE of Amarillo. The FJ40 did great with this set-up. This expands the list of alternative igniters in @Coolerman's Dizzy FAQ to include Part Numbers 89620-16050 (igniter) 19070-15080 (coil/igniter assembly) - 8/79 through 7/82 Tercel with the 3A-C engine.Bastardized my '76 FJ40 some more by, at least temporarily, swapping out my FJ60 coil/igniter with a Tercel coil/igniter. I had to fabricate a temporary jumper - the connector at the coil/igniter and the connector at the FJ60 distributor are the same gender. I'll correct that by replacing the coil/igniter lead with a new lead of the correct length (longer than the Tercel lead), using some new shielded cable I bought off eBay and a new connector I got from @ToyotaMatt. It fired right up and runs great.
BTW, the '76 now sports two Tercel parts - a power steering pump and the coil/igniter.
These are the items that will sideline our rigs. Well done. The other TEQ(early supra…) owners will appreciate this as well.Fabricated and installed a new lead from the '82 Tercel igniter to the FJ60 distributor in my '76 FJ40 a few weeks ago. Get the 4Plus front to match the rear.Undecided on keeping the stock front bumper. May switch to an HFS.

Do the Tercel wire colors match up with the OE ones in the LC?Fabricated and installed a new lead from the '82 Tercel igniter to the FJ60 distributor in my '76 FJ40 a few weeks ago. The install fairly straightforward?Installed my aussie locker in the rear diff. Heading to Uwharrie next week for some fishing, camping and try a couple trails.

To be honest, I never thought about that. Something for me to look into.IIRC, the stock '76 igniter is a points-type, the spark plug gap would be 1mm. The FJ60 distributor and the Tercel igniter / coil puts you fully into electronic ignition, the later FJ60 2F uses a different plug and a wider gap for the hotter spark, right?
I run the positive (+) wire from the ignition switch to the coil positive (+) terminal, along with the wire to the idle solenoid. And I run the ground wire to one of the coil bracket mounting bolts to ensure a good ground. The Tercel igniter has red and white wires that connect to the corresponding red and white wires to the FJ60 distributor's signal generator. I'm pretty sure the Tercel igniter can also be used with the 9/77 through 8/80 electronic distributors.Do the Tercel wire colors match up with the OE ones in the LC?

I’m very happy with mine configured like that. I did retain the roller fairlead, which Id like to be rid of. Are you planning on synthetic rope, or wire?8274 plus stock bumper, hooks and gussets. View attachment 2826626View attachment 2826627
