The weeks and days are running together but this week I painted my new 555 tie rod ends, cleaned all the old funk off my Birfield joints, pulled the sector shaft arm for steering box seal replacement, rebuilt my center arm, and mocked up my pto winch to build reinforcements for it.

@Braden620 You mind me asking which rebuild kit you used?

New City Racer lights, HFS Bumper and Baja Designs after a long hiatus receiving a new engine.

Tonight’s various phun time projects included the small production run job scope of 4 badly needs in dash ignition OEM parts yazaki service spec connectors pigtails and period correct color coded tracer stripe Leeds too

OEM toyota original was only a slim 14 guage in 72 and even thinner early in the 60,s

I subscribe to the Skool or JIS over engineering here at the skunk works lab

Why screw around and loose sleep ?

No way Jack ! I bump up any OEM ignition circuts to 12ga phat amps rated and also indeed safe and secure too

I don’t play or cheap out on my watch when a 27F 700cca OEM trustart battery is involved

Also , it instills confidence in the end users my beloved clients and such I care about there circuits current draw potential like the Teq Geek squad i Freely admit to be ....

Never fail parts

Always get u home !

So Never fail size specs upgrades it is ..

From Kaos of my desk top to the final meshing of mechanical period correct harmony mr. T would be in wonder over .

We have a unique little unicorn guest this evening attending MoCK Up session

1968 FJ55 small size spec IN dash ignition switch set up NOS of course ....

Special build for a special mud buddy ...

Fj40 in dash ignition hole is : 25mm

These little guys are only 12mm dash hole size spec ...

FJ55 is a bizarro animal for sure here ?

Note shaft thu dash needed front section ?

In 1973 the ignition cylinder and key switch were moved to a late modle column exactly like fj40

However :

FJ40 all had a blue medialion in center cap of wheel

FJ55 has a Red devilish looking killer kool
One ...

I like devilish TEq that just my opinion ...

I scoped up a dozen or so of these narrow early front section key locks a few years ago

I’m down to only. 2 Remaining ,

Not sure what the future holds fir this needed size spec part when the well of NOS dries up for good ?

I add a red tracer stripe by hand to both lock body and connector housing

U can indeed force on the plug 🔌 using a 180 ‘ approach vector by mistake ,

the results would be a TOTAL harness full battery current melt down for sure , so some cheap insurance red ink is a solid plan A in prevention ..

I know there’s zero nos ones around

I plan to approach some folks who make yard art and such

If I could reproduce the top of the key and create a novity item like a bottle opener or the like ?

Enough chatty matty

Thanks to TSM more pieces to the puzzle have arrived. Buh bye rear drums...

Oh come on now, you are going to miss adjusting those two wheel cylinders per wheel🙄. Now which direction moves the pads out?????! Ha ha. Please post up some pics of your progress. I wonder if rear discs from a 5th Gen 4Runner. could be made to work?

Will this help? I grabbed one of my small wedges and measured it. All dimensions in millimeters.

This awesome, the drawing far exceeded my expectations of getting measurements for the small block. Thanks very much!!!. Any chance of doing this for the large block? If you did, I would look at getting a machine shop to build some if there was enough interest.

A few weeks ago I posted about a camping trip- stopping for gas enroute back home I noticed coolant dripping. I found a tiny tear in the lower radiator hose. It never did overheat on the hundred mile trip home. Rock auto sent me some hoses and a new belt and I dug into it. I never liked the black engine bay. I don’t know what I was thinking at the time I did it. It’s like looking into a top hat at midnight. So while I had it apart for repair I painted the engine bay.

Installed a freshly rebuilt FJ60 distributor into a '73 F. Thanks to @4Cruisers for rebuilding the distributor. With the FJ60 coil and ignitor mounted in the stock FJ40 location the wiring needs to be lengthened to be plugged into the distributor.

@Coolerman makes a sweet pigtail to lengthen the distributor wiring.

Good to know but I've already extended the wiring; scavenged from a FJ60 wiring harness.

Nothing technical.... we have had favorable weather this week so I have driven it 5 out of the last 6 days.
ok I did put the tub/hardtop bolts back in with anti Seize. Still waiting on my brother to finish painting the tailgate.
Dawn patrol beach volley ball session this AM.

I contacted him to ask if he had the plug and he said he’d make me the harness. What did you do for the coil wire, I think i used a later fj40 wire as the 60 wire was too short.
