Started the install of another @cruiseroutfit ters OME kit onto a super clean ‘81. Great service as always.

Don’t toss the EGR out. It is extremely valuable to anyone missing it in California. They’ll not be able to pass smog tests without 100% of the original bits.

Finely got round to figuring out why the fuel gauge would stop at 7/8 of a tank.

Seems it was just the orientation of the float.

and got it back together.

On my LX450 it calls for the black Moly grease on the Birfs. Probably doesn't make a big difference though.

I agree using moly for the birf. You can use the regular stuff for the bearings though.

Finally finished the reburb on my 8274 and it's all together waiting for everything else to be done so it can get installed.

Painted the tie rod ends with a couple coats of 2K epoxy than a final coat of Underhood black (satin black) urethane

i spent a gorgeous day out on the deck , thumbing thru my pipe dreams journal of needed parts solutions ideas , and back burner stuff i jot down when the idea pops into my head .......

for some reason i picked this to explore today , and well i think i Nailed it Solid ......

69505-60010 , Cylinder Set, Lock

- fits 9/72 - 1/75 FJ40 VLS / Hard Top

- Kit Contains :

- OEM Column Mounted Ignition Lock ( Keyed Alike to Fuel Door )

- OEM Fuel Door Lock , Flip Down Style ( Keyed Alike to IGN. )

- Rear Lift Hatch Single sided key set

- Drivers Door Single sided Key Set

- There was NO passenger side door lock during this Pro-date span , it took me several hours of hard core R+D to narrow down this exact part # Master Vehicle Key set correctly , but she is 100% period correct after some consulting form a higher power to be ....


- i added some bells and whistles , like fuel door cushion bumper , retainer clamp and 4 new Oem screws for the possible and normal Adjustment and Alignment per the FSM ......

- re-using old small size spec. hardware is so passe' , when for .25 cents you can have nice positive tourque from a Hybrid HEX / Phipps SEMS bolt .....


- 69505-60010 officially Lives once again .....

Proudly hand assembled using 100% Toyota Genuine Parts and Nothing else matters at that point except to feel good it does !
