And here I am with a vehicle sitting for over 3 weeks and all it needs is a new brake drum... Absolutely shameful
Mines been sitting in the garage all summer because I have to pump the brakes to get them to work. I’ve spent hours bleeding them and finally gave up.

It is embarrassing. I now feel like a sloth.

It could be adjustment... or if the cylinders aren’t OEM, air caught above the bleeders.

Are you using a vacuum bleeder? Helper to bleed?

It shouldn’t be so difficult, but sometimes people get hung up. Occasionally a cylinder even gets installed upside down.

I've adjusted them till no more and backed off 2 clicks. I've vacuum bled them, pressure bled them with a motiv bleeder and used the two man method. I'm thinking it may be the master cylinder. I used to be able to lock them up...then I was pulling into a parking spot at a store, and the brake pedal went the floor. You can imagine how that ended up. If I pump the pedal once or twice, I can lock them up.

Either way, the drive home was sporty!

Went to put my clips for the lug wrench on my tire carrier and found I’d misplaced the hardware. D’oh. No matter. I grabbed some fresh yellow zinc from the bag I got from @RAGINGMATT and got that done.

I like what you did there with the tire iron. What parts did you use for the mod?

To me it sounds like a master cylinder problem. I had the same problem a long time ago and it was the plunger between the two reservoirs. I replaced it with a fj60 single cup and it has been fine ever since.

There is a write up in Toyota Trails about it. Maybe someone with better sleuthing skills can find a link.

I did a "proper" brake adjustment on my drum brakes....Hung a strand of battery operated Christmas Lights from the roll bar for the kiddies and ordered a Lower Radiator hose engine heater for those hard to warm up mornings.....
FOUND A WHISTLE IN ENGINE BAY , AFTER CHANGING INTAKE AND EXHAUST GASKET LAST WEEK,, UUUUGH..

-Welded up a roll cage about 2years ago, but now it sits outside and is rusted...
So this week I've been removing all the rust and preparing for my final paint job and install.
-Also installed 3 new fuel filters. My carb was choking on dirty gas since I let my tank get so low...
She started up! But died shortly after... My carb is now hissssing at me :(
Guess I need to take it apart again and clean the entire carb once more... this is my first carburated vehicle - so I guess I could use the practice.
-Painted front bumper so I can bolt on my new winch mounting plate.
-Finally installed my Tuffy center console. Now I need to bolt it down and buy a lock-n-key.

**Much much more to do!!!**

Nothing, didn't even start it this week. I'm thinking I should take a trip up in the mountains this weekend, look for some trout.

By the way, I didn't forget about your side reflectors. I have been insanely busy lately but will have some free time soon. ;)

Started thinking about it? With as nice as that tub turned out I’d be afraid to get tools near it!

Thats why it is only started. I have to file out some of the dash holes and am crapping my pants at the thought of it.

I had the same issue in some spots, luckily no metal was exposed or cut, it was just a little body filler here and there.

Of course yours is a helluva lot nicer looking than mine!
