I haven’t heard of many people running them in the forums but from what I can gather from the specs it seems to be way better quality than the Champion radiator that most people run.

That is my understanding as well. And if I read the warranty correctly they will give you a new one even if you smash it up, hit a deer, etc?? Hope I never find out!!

Guaranteed for as long as they stay in business for... had my OEM rad recored in ‘92. It started to leak a year or so ago... turned out the shop that repaired it did a pispoor job (despite their excellent reputation) and it was ready to blow apart.

A lifetime warranty wouldn’t have helped... they went out of business years ago. Lifetime warranty for Craftsman tools used to mean something... till Sears went under last year.

I’m not saying don’t buy quality or a warranty. Just saying if they are crap the warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on... if it’s good you won’t need it.

I get what you’re saying but Mishimoto has been a very well established and respected company in the tuning and racing world since the early 2000’s so I doubt they are going anywhere.

Rounding the corner on another slow-boat project: the FST tire carrier on Ruftoys. I had the main plate and the hinges done a couple of years ago when I had all of @DSB345 axles done. I started reassembling it shortly thereafter, then got busy with other things.

Opened the storage container where I keep it last week and noticed I never buttoned up the hinges with castle nuts!

Off to Mark’s Off Road for a pair of NOS (parts bag says 1998!) castle nuts. :grinpimp:

Super jealous of your gold-plated nuts ;)

No cotter pin?

I have a note in my smart phone for them, along with the missing hardware to remount my lug wrench on the carrier.

Added some fresh gas, and it now runs and drives once again. Much happier now with the new clutch, and already seems better riding in just short hops with the new spring shackle bushings.

Ready to install the hood and winch, but need to get a second body to help with those. Also need to get the windshield in. I figure roping it in would be simple, but I'd need some helpers, a suitable rope or cord, plus a tool to install the lockstrip. May just bite the bullet and pay a glass shop to do that.

Began disassembly in mid-June, pulled the tub off the frame on July 7. So probably 9 weeks since I started ripping it apart.

I'm retired. I get to play with this rig all week long...

And here I am with a vehicle sitting for over 3 weeks and all it needs is a new brake drum... Absolutely shameful

Super jealous. I am NOT retired, and have an infant (excuses) but I'm on year 6 - I've got the mechanicals mostly sorted out but have yet to touch the bodywork. If you get bored once this is done, I'll put mine on a truck out to Oregon. ;)

Where’s the line... I’d wait a turn in that lineup. I’d settle for having someone who’d do all the mechanical work that’s waiting... or the body... I’m not picky.

Take a week off work and bring the truck on down to Maryland - I’m sure with our powers of procrastination combined, we can successfully disassemble both trucks and accomplish nothing of value on either of them :hillbilly:
