On vacation and with all the ‘sights’ one expects to see at the beach..... here’s what really caught my attention!

After 4 years of living in my shop in a frame off restoration which included hours and hours of fixing minor nicks and dings and two coats of 2K primer along with hours of sanding, the body and all other sheetmetal parts went to the professional painter today for a base coat/clear coat finish. This guy has done work on Jay Leno's vehicles and is really good. The amazing thing is he lives about 5 miles from me. The shop shop so empty...Time to roll the rebuilt and assembled frame in from the other garage to prep for the body's return in a couple of weeks.

The local Toyota dealer parts man said the OEM PCV valves weren't available in the USA. Followed the link provided by a previous poster to SOR and they listed theirs as OEM so I took a chance. Arrived today, has the Aisan name on the side, heavier and better made than the Echlin I got at NAPA and with just a little pressure after lubricating it almost fell into place. The Echlin was a bear to force in and I wasn't real sure it was seated properly. The Aisan is tight and seated properly. There is a lot of reason why to stay with Toyota parts.

Sorry for the fuzzy photo, at least you will get the idea.

And started getting rid of the bad outside rocker panel on the passenger side. Have the new one on hand to put in, just need the all elusive "more time" I here people talk about.

oooo I need to do this to mine, both rocket and well. Where be the pieces parts from?

Very welcome. My local cruiservice restoration shop said they have the best quality panels out of anyone they have tried. Said they are the closest to spec.

I had been looking at their tailgate, actually. I sure wish there were some cruiser whisperers on this said end of the rock, New England.

I am so glad I am done with that part of my build. It brings back horrible memories.
