Only a few people have sat in my 76 garage queen. All 3 people opened the glovebox, quickly whipped their heads left and said “are you going to do anything in here”

Had some POR-15 left, so I prepped and slathered. Next was Chroma base epoxy sealer leftover from my Lid painting adventure. I slopped it on the scuffed POR-15. Then some single stage “body color” :hillbilly:

Front door headers were the only remaining parts with Japanese paint.:( Think my PO left the rear header in deer camp to hang meat so I bought the red ambi header off a fellow mudder.

Don’t know when to stop. Figured if I’m shooting primer I might as well wire wheel some parts “straight outta Burbank” for the 71 I’m bringing back to life. I may reinstall the neoprene knuckle protection back on the jack handle for Karma.:steer:

Sure wish I had bought a cabinet blaster:slap:

Not anything special, but I pulled both derelict 40s out of the barn with our rusty 4Runner and switched their positions so my duaghters goes in back for storage and mine went to the main aisle to get reworked.

My wife was even brave enough drive the 4rnnr to push my 40 back in.

Making some progress! Still brainstorming where I want to mount Albright solenoid. Not much room in original box.

Well the Albright solenoid was a PIA but it’s done. I had to do some creative wiring and modify the solenoid back plate a bit. I still need to source some cable boots and hook up pos and negative cables to batterie.

Looks great! Are those 90’ v6 4runner calipers from Centric? Do they use the same 10 mm brake lines? Do they come coated/painted or are they raw? I only ask because I’m getting ready to buy new calipers.

Your spare looks different. What size and brand?
Yes, the spare is an old Summit that came on the rig when I bought it. Also 7.00-15. While not the exact same tire as on the ground, I figure it's close enough. While old, it should be good enough to get me home if needed.

Calipers from Rockauto, loaded, for cheap with a $5 core (which means they aren't getting a core back). No coating, just dipped in cosmoline.

From the build over on FJ45 subforum:
"Current phase of this FJ45 project is building a front axle to upgrade:
-drums to V6 4runner disc brakes
-8mm diff studs to 10mm
-ball & claw to CV joints
-coarse spline shafts to fine spline
-Warn hubs to Aisin hubs
-small pattern 11mm knuckles to large pattern 12mm
-4.11 coarse pinion to 3.70 fine pinion....

Housing is a 1977 FJ40. Knuckles are 1986 FJ60. Brake calipers are 88-newer 4runner. Diff is 1983 3.70."

Touched up the bezel. Painted the free Toyota 6 spokes off of Craigslist. (Krylon Dover White rattle can). Waiting on the 33x10.5x15 Dick Cepek Extreme Country from 4wheelparts. Great deal on the tires. $155.00 each and $100 dollar mail in rebate. With tax and road hazard, no mount and balance, after rebate $645.00
