Blasted and powder coated hinges. Added stainless pins and threw out the plastic bushings in favor of brass from @SouthBostonFJ40 . For the Hood hinges, i used same ss pins and bushings as door and windshield, then just trimmed pins to length. Going to do the ambi door hinges also.

Where are the pins from?

Partially completed the rear suspension install on the fj45...got some incorrectly sized frame pin bushings from SOR that don't fit the OME spring eyes. Biggest victory was removing these pins. Probably close to 5hrs just removing these.

The day my '77 was delivered I found a long black plastic duct laying on the rear floor. Couldn't immediately figure out what it was or even if it was a part for this vehicle. Time passes. Went for a ride on a cold 30F day and worked the heater controls wondering why a bunch of air was blowing in on the passenger side. That's where the duct fits !

It took me a while to find out why my horns are not working..They never worked since I got my 40.I tested them finally from the battery and they are silent..I tried to adjust them and nothing happened,So I went to autozone and get me a pair of wolo horns and what a difference...Loud as hell...I will still look at OEM horns later if I can restore them in a future-I like how solid the are...

For the price of new OEM horns I thought I would try repairing my 2 dead horns. You Tubed it and got them both working. Have to drill out the rivets. Just a little set of contacts in there that needed cleaned up. HTH.

I, too, bought it. 1975 FJ40, Soft top, Weber Carb.

Beyond excited! It's @mjl132 's old rig. Here is his build thread: The FJ40 Project

It's (mostly) rust free and in really good running condition! Needs a rear view mirror, oil-fill cap and a few other minor things but very happy overall.

The story goes: posted a thread about this particular truck that was a few states away - wanted to know if anyone would go check it out for me. @BamaHeel messaged me about it quickly and said he already knew quite a bit about the particular truck and that it used to belong to his buddy @mjl132 . Pretty cool the truck went through its original rebuild with a mud-member. @BamaHeel put me in touch with him and we have chatted several times since then, was incredibly helpful and informative! Proud to say the truck is back in the 'mud family.

No big plans for it right now, just want to drive it and enjoy it. That said, I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions along the way.
