Fenders painted. Everything came out pretty sweet with my harbor freight paint booth. Very little trash. Nothing a little wet sand and cut and buff won't take care of. I'm getting a bit better at laying down the color. This build has been so much fun, and sometimes I want to scream! Today is a good day!!!!

Had some time to work on some knobs!

Got the tub and cage mounted over the past couple days...she's coming along slowly but surely. Hope to start running electrical next weekend!

Wow!! That's looking amazing! Just a heads up on stainless battery carrier. You might have to hog out the mounting holes a bit and slide closer to the engine. Mine was interfering with passenger side front fender. Wish I had a garage like that.

No actually it is not a stock color. Kind of a long story but after weeks of looking at the stock colors and nothing my wife and I saw sparked our interest. I started to look elsewhere for colors. I came across this color at Eastwood. It's emerald green single stage eurethane. My wife and I fell in love with it. It was such a new color that Eastwood didn't even have a color chart for it. So I took a gamble and ordered it. Once I sprayed a test, we were sold. I'm very impressed with the paint. I know some hard core guys are not going to like it's not stock color but we absolutely love it. The color is actually 2 colors mixed to gether to create this Color. Here is a pic of my test sample

Love the color. What is it?

Thanks - it's an Audi color called Nardo.

Yeah - I think I'll be ok, but not 100% sure. I'm running metal tech fenders and have had them on with the tray mounted....but it's been so long that when I mounted it today I questioned the room. We'll see!

The garage is great, I've really enjoyed it. The lift allows be to do so much solo, like mount the tube, cage, etc,,

Fenders and front windshield into paint. Not to shabby... couple nibs to deal with.

Thought some of you rust belt peeps might get a kick out of this picture. Was cleaning up the front splash guards and working on my steering box. Noticed some oil-soaked paint that looked soft. Quick rub with a rag, and this.

Can still see the shear and press marks on the channel, especially the left edge. Gotta love CA desert rigs!

Is that nebula green?

It's supposed to be 6h9. Direct mix from DuPont. However it's a tad bit off. Looks a lot like fashion green. It is a cool color nonetheless.

On Sunday, I replaced the axle bearings and installed the rebuilt third member. Today I replaced the lock on the ambulance door, rewired my license plate light and put CCOT door skins on the 40. Doing so, I lost the window crank retaining clip:bang::bang::bang:

Finished front disc swap from FJ60, by far the best modification I have done. Many thanks to the mud members for posting how-to threads! Don't do the aftermarket front disc conversion, do yourself a favor and do it right the first time.

Added:
- new TRE's
- 4" Hell for Stout lift
- new soft brake lines
- OEM roll bar
- door safety straps
- LED headlights
- new bumperettes
- tail light guards
- new u-joint
- leather steering wheel wrap

Currently restoring rear jump seats and adding 16" OEM steel wheels. Have a set of SS 34x10.50 just waiting to hit the trail but think I will enjoy a few weeks.

Pura vida

@bellaire35 where you get that steering wheel wrap? Looks good. Never mind see your in Costa Rica.

Yes, we have a local guy who does them for $20. I had a buddy come down and he brought his wheel with him. This guy takes 15 min and great quality.

Pulled rear axles and brakes off, to find more stuff to spend money on. Looks to have sat so long rust had pitted the left axle

along with seizing up all 4 rear wheel cyls. The awful thing about it you can tell they all were fairly new and so were the shoes when it was set up. The last 2 POs died before getting her back on the road, she has fought tooth and nail all the way through this. Just like a strong young mule.

You could make a pretty penny if you ever got some to the states.

We are working a few things such as that starting in October. The materials pre-cut and ready to install would be easy for me to ship to the states. The guy, not so much as he is a little big for express mail.
