Cut the misplaced engine mounts out of my 40...getting closer to re-doing the botched v8 conversion installed by the PO.

Not mine, but I'll happily trade ;-)

Dismantled my Saginaw power steering conversion to figure out why it was binding and clicking with every revolution. After disconnecting the gearbox and and turning the wheel it appears that the upper borgeson u joint is binding because the angle is just over 35 degrees.

I have two choices lop a little more off my column steering shaft or purchase a Flaming river u joint that has a limit of 40 degrees....I went the lazy route....We will see if if works this weekend.

@Jdc1 this is what it looks like without the 60 cover. I hope it helps you plan your conversion.

Very nice work! Until you've taken one totally apart, most people have absolutely no idea of how many "things (are) left to do", from where you are now.

X2 it's ALL the little things that take so long. Looks like it's downhill from here. :D

Props to JM rigging. Sk99 heatset line with sk78 abrasion jacket. Merry Christmas/happy birthday to me!

@RWBeringer4x4 there is some minor modification needed to the 60 cover to get it to conform to the 40 cover on the back right corner. Along with enlarging the opening of the 40 cover and drilling a few holes. Nothing too serious.

I havnt installed mine yet, @76 FJ40 details it above.

Thanks guys, this is good to know - this is what the PO left me and I'm still debating whether to replace it or try to repair it. It's good to know I have options...

There's always options, lol. It just a matter of having enough time and/or money to put those options into play.

Wow! that was close, he was lucky.
