Thanks. Will do. Planning on heading up to Louie lake tomorrow via a j**p trail I've heard of.

Put on a set of 16/900s Balloon sand tires. Egyptian made, 10 ply, factory sold production seized.

Pulled the 4l80e and twin case to replaced the flexplate (warped). Let's hope this fixes the vibrations... Next radiator swap...

Went up to Louie Lake today. Found the right trail and followed it until it got a little too scary for the wife and kids. We hiked in the rest of the way. Beautiful lake. I will be coming back to try to make it the rest of the way when I have someone a little more familiar with spotting along. It will be tuff with a stock gearing and no lockers but I'd like to try at least. Here's a few pics. First one is with my 2 year old boy. Man he's fun.

Finally got around to doing my PS conversion the last few days. I had factory power steer but with 35's I lost most of my turning hitting the steering arm. Plus with the engine, the exhaust lived fairly close to the steering box. Anyway, 75 knuckle arms, tie rod, drag link and intermediate shaft. 62 steering box. 80 pitman arm.
Bearing in the steering column and that was ground to a 3/4 DD, the 75 intermediate is already 3/4 DD just need to remove the spline end, then a uni joint. I used one with a vibration dampener.

Danny is right. Background on 303 is that it was developed by NASA or one of their contractors for the rubber "O" rings on the rocket boosters. It softens and rejuvenates the O-Ring compound, keeping it soft and pliable to better seal the joint. Additionally, it contains UV chemicals to resist the damaging effects of sunlight and ozone.

I buy it by the gallon at the RV store and use it on my fifth wheel window seals, tires, decals and other areas that could be damaged by sunlight. I also use it on the FJ-40's plastic, seats, dash and other areas exposed to sunlight.

The seals on the hardtop windows were extremely dry and hard when I bought this 40 out of Arizona where it had lived for 39 years in the sun. After weekly spraying with the 303 fluid for the past 11 months the seals are now pliable, shine, and I am able to remove the glass to restore/paint the hardtop without damaging the seals or breaking the glass. I also used it on my aircraft. Good Stuff.
