I couldn't stand it any longer, even with a "high" pollen count, I removed the rear panel and rolled up the sides. It's going to be my DD all week!!!!!

man, thats a schweet looking 40! best thing to do is use em everyday :D

Nice paint job! How many rattle cans did you wind up using?

I used about 5-6 cans, and 2 cans duplicolor acrylic clear coat. Should be easy to touch up, and until I can afford a "real" paint job (which would require a bit of quarter panel work) I'm liking this better than the canary yellow for sure!

Cheers

New seat covers. They are really nice, except now in about two inches higher and two inches closer to the steering wheel. It will be nice when they break in.View attachment 1242607

Those are the Specter seats right? Yeah I noticed the seat elevation differential. I got the same color too. Yours look excellent! Did you do it yourself?

I started my ConFerr roof rack installation with a few modifications to the roof rack brackets, since the rack is only 54" wide and it needs to be 60" wide for the brackets to reach the roof gutters.

I fabbed (6) 3/4"x1-1/2"x12" steel tubing extensions for the ConFerr roof rack brackets

The wife and I took off our doors & top today. Then we went to HD to buy a few things and were immediately surrounded by a crowd with all types of question.
Maybe the lack of doors and no visible seat belts peaked their interest? Beautiful truck. Suprised I haven't seen it on this site before.

As we left HD, the city boys saw and followed us all the way home just to ask what year is our truck!

been having some serious cruiser wrenching withdrawal this long weekend, what with my 45 being at the auto sparky. been itching to do something, so decided to tinker around with my front badge...

im pretty happy with it, especially considering my weak hand when it comes to any form of paint.

Gave her a bath and took her up to the local annual car show and met a fellow Mudder - that was cool!

Put about 50 miles on it this weekend. Now it will barely idle. :-/

Seems like I have a big vacuum leak at the base gasket of the carb, which seeming appeared out of nowhere in the last week or so.

Any Quadrajet gurus out there that no how to get these darn gaskets to seal? It's a new intake gasket and a brand new, rebuilt SMI carb - probably less than 100 miles through it. I was careful not to over-torque the intake mounting bolts, so I don't think the carb should have warped...bolts all still seem snug.
