So I decided to tackle my doors (finally). My 40 was born Dune Beige but repainted by PO in a much lighter shade. So I found some old style flat doors and thought I could color match them with close enough results. Wrong. Shame is, this was my third attempt at painting vehicles (or parts), and the best yet. Paint laid down fantastically and polished down very well. Just a shade off.

So now, I explore options.
#1 repaint everything factory 406 (not my favorite option obviously)
#2 repaint doors flat black to approximate my top color (easiest fix)
#3 rock these for the 2 months of the year I "need" doors
#4 any suggestions
Check this site out. It might proof useful.Put it on blocks in the garage.

I would go a completely different color as suggested in #2. So many shades of beige you'll never match it unless you go in and have them scan it. And even then it can be off. You can take it to a body shop and they could probably do a nice job matching the paint. Obviously that would cost a lot more than you painting it.

Was computer scanned at my auto paint shop. Resolution was a 7 out of 10 so he said it should be a hit. They did a fantastic job on my Nebula Green 72. Beige is tricky though. Maybe my Massey Grey that I did the wheels and bows with?
What an insult "Jeep"? Punching would be too kind.Did you punch him![]()
