I didn't like the contrast of the beige OEM sun visor color against the black console, so my :princess:wife offered to recover the sun visors to match the overhead console material and color which is black.

We purchased new material from Joanne Fabrics and my wife did her sawing machine magic and viola new sun visors!

I'm pretty happy with the end result so wanted to share this pic.

Your wife needs to sell those!

Not necessarily to the Land Cruiser, but Cruiser related... Picked up a Hobart plasma cutter off Craigslist, should make all the metal cutting I have to do for rust repair much quicker/easier, supposed to be able to cut 3/16" and sever 1/4", we'll see. Tested it on some 16ga and it was like a hot knife through butter.

Wife and I are expecting our first baby, due in 6 weeks. While picking up an order at Toys R Us, I saw a onesie that has FJ40's drawn on it!! Had to buy it, no other choice, lol! :D

Nice Hobart...but love the onesie!

I finished most of the work on the box for spare parts, guns and survial stuff in the cargo area -still need to work on the left side and sleeping platform in front..Original AZ licence plate from 1977 bolted to the box.Took it for a ride-beautiful weather here in TX....I have seen some nice CJ5 on the way and waved at him and he waved back.I have not seen another 40 series LC today...Not surprised-they are all garaged to be ready for some upcoming 3 days of rains and winds bad weather...

Really looking nice. Like the stinger on your front end as well...

Thanks.I didn't like the stinger first, but after seeing the quality of work done I am just keeping it there...The welds are grounded smooth you don't even now they are there...With a stinger I can push the cars I don't like out off my way if I am in the hurry:steer:

More massaging than anticipated, but ill finally have some mirrors. Now I need to either elongate the holes that bolt to the mirror hinge or find some plastic spacers not make up the difference.

Edit: Nylon washers from Lowes worked perfectly:

Any particular reason you didn't mount those mirror arms in the front bolt holes of the windshield hinge, as per this SOR pic below?

That would have been too easy! Making room for the Safari Snorkel and I've seen others use the side hinge holes since the front ones can't be used.

In Europe in 90s when I lived there most of the vehicles equipped with the fog lights also had a fog light(strong red bulb)in the back .That way vehicle behind can see you even better.Front lights and back one were wired together so one button for both...I can tell you still remember some of the bad,bad weather there.
