I also got tired of lights that wouldn’t attract a lonely moth so I did an exterior LED upgrade (I had already completed an interior LED upgrade). Both the Diode Dynamics bulbs and the photos were provided by Odd Iron Off Road.

Oil change and OEM filter, OEM air filter, OEM fuel filter, rotated tires, and installed Perry Parts rear bump stops (3/4 bolts had to be drilled and tapped).

Installed Teyes headunit, soundstream PN5.640D amp, dash cam, and rear-view camera on the ladder swingout (still need to sort the reverse signaling, likely a poor tap). Sounds quality is excellent, still fiddling with setting up apps and waiting on a data-only SIM for the headunit. New PS seat leather from Wolfman while the seat was out, replaced some bulbs, and installed a USB socket/voltmeter while the center console was apart.

Finished wiring up the rear interior/exterior lighting, all run to a fuse box velcro-ed into the first aid kit space. Ripped out the rear AC, duct, and wiring while everything was apart. Using a portable power station to run these and a diesel heater while I figure out a more comprehensive dual battery/power station setup with solar and alternator charging.

Still need to find some time to tackle the parking brake rebuild...

I threw new pads in at the rear and ordered a brake caliper. Waited too long, thus wrecked caliper piston and it’s leaking a bit. Oops. Other side was ok. Will get back into it this weekend and see if I can get the rotors and caliper added in with the new pads, bleed those, then do the front rotors and pads. Whole new cone washer set, bearing seals, star washer, etc in for that whole endeavor on the front end of the truck.

Not too bad of an install thanks to others who paved the way in this thread (LX470 2004 | Need help with Android Screen - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/lx470-2004-need-help-with-android-screen.1277592/), but a bit of a pain to get all of the wiring stuffed in. I think I spent around 12 hours in total installing the head unit, dash cam, reverse camera, and amp. Most of that time was running wiring and taping to prevent rattles.

Seems like the LX install can be plug and play with the factory Levinson amp, but the Teyes doesn't play well with the JBL amp in the LC and has a constant hissing present. I decided to go straight to aftermarket amp to avoid any issues.

Little more work, got it in sprayed with high-fill primer and sanded (repeat 3x) earlier this week. Yesterday I got some color-match 6S5 aerosol cans from R&E paint delivered, so sprayed this morning with three coats of color and spraymax 2k clear. We'll see how we'll the color matches once I can handle it.

Was the fuel line heat insulation to prevent vapor lock?
Did some of the mods suggested by @J1000 in this thread

Had to get aftermarket catalytic converters after mine were stolen, and they don’t have as much shielding as oem ones, the heat was melting the rubber that covers some fuel and brake hoses that run next to the cats, and after reading too much it just snowballed into a shielding extravaganza..

Yesterday I changed all five Diff Bushings with Febest ones.
The front one came out pretty easily In about 15 mins, few spays of PB Blaster and hammer smacks. Reinstalled with a rented bushing tool.
The other two bushings I got out of the arms with an air hammer and reinstalled with a vise. All got Anti-sieze on bushings and hardware when reinstalled.

Today I tried changing all four U-joints to get my wuh wuh wuh sound fixed.
I bought four Matsuba U-joints, as it said on the website I got them from that the front and rear driveshaft are the same size. But then found out front drive shaft joints are smaller after getting them out.

I got the LC home in RWD mode with the CDL locked. Placed an order for some Toyota front U-joints (PN#04371-60051) from a dealership nearby at $73 each. So I can hopefully get the front driveshaft sorted soon.

The metal part that you need to screw the screw in for the plate became loose, so I put some glue for now.

As a permanent solution, I am thinking of gluing an M5 nut on a wider washer on the back of the main skid plate, then using an M5 screw instead of the OEM screw, to screw the mini plate, would that work?
