I had some free time and stopped by the Toyota service center for a complementary brake inspection a few weeks ago (and to log in an event on carfax with mileage) on this new to me 2000 LC. Service advisor said fronts were 6mm and rear were not checked as they were ‘drum’ brakes. 🤦‍♂️
Needless to say, I checked the rear disc brakes at home.

Changed them out today. This goes to show you that you get what you pay for :) Who are training the techs?

Did the globes at 312k no more front end squeaking when changing suspension settings

Weighed it (includes me (~200#)) - surprised it wasn't 7k:

Been doing quite a bit in preparation for my July trip to WA and CO. Decided to pull the radiator today as I’ve seen a few mud holes. A lot of brown came out of the fins. Shot it with condenser cleaner as well. I expect it’ll run a bit cooler as a result. Also glued up my third light, it literally cracked in half.

@Bisho , You might want to try this....3rd Brake Light.

I had noticed that my stocker seemed very dim in comparison to the other two, and I stumbled upon this. For the price I took a shot and it's really quite good. Perhaps not 100% OEM good, but it fits, it works, and it's way brighter.
Thanks, I’ll keep that bookmarked. We’ll see how my epoxy job holds up!

I added reflecting insulation to my fuel tank and fuel lines. We’ll see if it helps with fuel boiling in the Rockies. It certainly can’t hurt.

Any more info on what type of airbags you are using? Hard to install?
Relatively easy to install as far as airbags go. But it depends on your skill level and quantity of tools.

Arrived home this week from a 14 day, 3,345 mile trip from Columbus OH to Vail CO for a lacrosse tournament. Then on to Grand Lake, Winter Park, Rocky Mountain NP, Evergreen, and finally Red Rocks for a concert Tuesday night. The 100 was a beast, loaded to the gills, a/c cranking, and it never complained. The new KO3s were great and saw ~50 miles of dirt.

10+ years as my daily driver and it’s third time doing the OH -> CO round trip. Most versatile vehicle I’ve ever owned.

It should. I did mine around same time last year and immediately tested it through extreme Vegas summer temps up to 122°F plus uphill driving conditions and cruiser didn’t skipped a beat.
A few years ago, drove mine up hwy 395 during a very hot spell. Parked the car at a rest stop and the fuel in the lines vaporized, it wouldn't start. My wife gave me "I told you to get a newer vehicle". Once it cooled down, it ran just fine and has ever since. I have full skids underneath which trap in the heat.

Last “upgrades” on the truck before our trip. We always had just enough room, but my wife decided our dog is now a regular on our camping trips, so I made some room.
I built an attic rack.

And a locking cabinet and cubby for the second row. Altogether it’s lighter than the seat, I get some hidden storage which will free up space, and suitcases will stack much better. I’m adding some anchors so I can strap it all down, as well.
