Good guess. Small 96 pound (dressed) 6 point whitetail. A buddy of mine drove by with an empty trailer while I was waiting for the sheriff to show up. Fresh venison for dinner this week.

I’ll have to see what the insurance company says. Zero rust on the body and only a bit of surface rust on the frame. I’ve done good at keeping it coated so hopefully they give me an accurate replacement price if it’s totaled.
That's a real bummer! Hope it either gets fixed for ya or they give you a good check.

Sounds like a clean truck. Wish I could come grab it from you if it's totalled but I've already got projects.

Started my front end refresh. Does anyone have a trick for popping the upper control arm ball joint loose? I watched Chows YouTube video and his method of hitting the sides is not working for mine.

Hit Harder! Serious that’s the best method if you’re keeping the UBJ. You gotta hit it real hard in some instances. Otherwise if you’re scrapping the joint just pickle fork it

Oil change and tire rotation today. Also found the driver side inter CV boot slinging a little grease. (Figures as I just re-clamped the passenger side) Also discovered the front sway bar links were toast. They were also Moog instead of OEM, so someone has changed them in the past. Off to order more parts!

Finished my sound system replacement today. I started with a new head unit, speakers, and a backup camera, with a Metra harness to reuse the factory amp. When I got that installed last weekend, I had a hiss from the speakers, even while in ACC mode, and with the volume turned completely down. I had seen this on the forums, but some people who reused the factory amp did not have the issue, so I decided to try the factory amp first. Last week I ordered a new amp and a bypass harness, and it sounds awesome today. I don't currently have a sub, but could add on pretty easily if I miss it. Honestly, the sound is far above what the factory setup was, so I am pretty happy so far. The backup camera is okay, but I would recommend trying a different model. They Boyo one I got had good reviews and was recommended by the sales person, but it is kind of washed out...I haven't called to see if there is anything I can do to adjust that, but I haven't found anything in the documentation.

Here is my parts list (about $1k for everything):

Pic of the backup camera. That washed out look is a bit annoying, but otherwise the camera works great. There is a wire you can clip to remove the cones and lines...I might do that.

My makeshift bracket causes the amp to be not perfectly straight, but I'll never see it. :)

Backup camera mounted behind the license plate frame using the same bolts as the frame.

I had to drill for the backup camera, behind the license plate. I sealed the hole after routing the wire, then followed the same path as the other wiring on the driver's side. This took a long time, but keeps everything water tight.

Finally got the @TRAIL TAILOR bumper mounted. I am running the Agency 6 Fairlead and got the License plate mount which is pretty spiffy. Very happy with the fit and finish of the bumper and fairlead.

On the frame I drilled out and installed some ez-lok M8 theads inserts to repair some of the damage skid plate mounting points.

I have some KC Lites wire hiders that I need to install to clean up the wires running up the side of my windshield.

Still deciding which 20” light bar to get. Thinking either the Diode Dynamics or Baja amber combo bars. I need to crimp the oem fog wires with the weatherpak connectors for the Baja Squadrons.

Not ALL this week but a lot of it this week...Trans fluid, diffs, t case, oil, CV axles, brake fluid, brake lines, A/C evaporator, freon, fuel tank, timing belt, water pump, fuel filter, fuel injector lines all done. I knew what I was in for when I bought it.

Do you have a part number for the fuel injector lines? Was this preventative maintenance?

Installed the Loncky steering wheel cover. Verdict is still out on if it’s real leather but it’s way better than what the wheel looked like before. Probably took 3 hours all in.

Made a hidden winch plate using the Harbor Freight one and some 3/16” steel plate. Pretty fun project so far!

And lastly, finished up this cargo barrier. It hooks into the drawer system, and is easily removable. Went a little HD on the tube thickness (14g) but it’s bomber and my dog will stay back there in any crash I’d be able to survive!
I bought the Loncky months ago but have been putting off the install. Yours looks great, did you take off the old steering wheel cover? I think my cover is original and is VERY ripped and crumbling and I think I should remove it rather than trying to go over it.

Id have to dig to find it. I only replaced it because the line was fused to the fuel filter and had no choice but to force it off. Then it broke..

Just did mine with OEM from the dealer. Probably overkill, but whatever.
I will admit, frequent drain and fill is the key to longevity. Almost any frequent maintenance is better than neglect…

I use Valvoline Max Life full synthetic…
+ 1oz. of Lube Gard per quart of ATF.

A superior AFT cocktail

-Excellent full synthetic ATF
-Readily available locally
-Reasonably priced

And the Lube Gard reduces thermal retention to ensure that I’ll get >500K miles without issues

I was also leaning towards Valvoline. Not sure if I want to do an entire fluid exchange or just drain and fill every 5k miles.
