Hello from another MA guy.
Nothing much to add to the general consensus - all good thoughts.
Now that the weather is cold I'd start by spraying just about any liquid oil on the rust to get good penetration, followed by the thicker product of...
Looks good.
Not that I'm any authority - my first priorities were sliders and a little bit of underside armor. MetalTech/OPOR and ASFIR respectively. Followed quickly by Escape Gear seat covers.
Funny, a friend was just thanking me for suggesting them to his wife before Christmas.
Love mine, both the pliers wrenches and cobras.
The pliers wrench really is the exception to "An adjustable wrench is, by definition, the wrong tool".
Somewhat more seriously than before ~ when weathered after brushing on Rust Bullet looks rather like hot-dipped galvanizing.
It doesn't seem incongruous for your sliders to look 'tougher' than the rest of the truck.
If you mean replace the brushes without pulling the alternator - no way.
Can't imagine even getting the rear cover off without removing the alternator.
Soak every connecting part with ATF/and or your favorite quality penetrating oil several...
Very happy with my MetalTech OPOR sliders - wouldn't mind if they had three rather than two attachment legs but they certainly seem to be tough enough.
Then take another look at ASFIR skid plates for more high value protection...
(and then, and...
Don't think the Tech forums are the place to sell things...
Like the idea and the looks of those.
Also appreciate that this post wasn't preceded by a couple of phony "Gee, I wish there were some solution to the sagging cargo nets..." threads...
Was almost the ~second person to have one of those CSF aluminum radiators.
One of the Youtube 100 series / overlander guys did a video where he didn't reveal the brand and promised an upcoming review. There were some notable gaps in the...
Found a small crack in the top of my radiator. Bit the bullet after much deliberation and bought a radiator from Toyota.
Had to re-tap a mount and form + epoxy a new tab for the shroud.
that tab looks better in person...
So here's the update.
Got in touch with a technical sales guy at ATech Motorsports ~ believe they are the wholesale distributor component of Summit.
He called his contact at CSF and found out that they do have a new aluminum radiator for the...
So far customer service says "You'd have to talk to one of our distributors"...
CSF - a brand of aftermarket radiators and associated products "Cooling Systems & Flexibles"
Now I'm going to spend half of tomorrow bothering them...
What's the general opinion on their standard replacement radiators?
I've been planning to just order one from Toyota but a CSF is tempting at $200 cheaper.
