Bought an iPad and am trying out the 4" SeaSucker brand suction cup mounts. 120-lbs of force. Testing it out on my Tundra until I can get out to Moab in two weeks to slap it on the 100's windshield. So far so good on the Tundra. They actually have a piston you push that sucks all of the air out. They are designed for boats in the waves so I figure it will hold up to most of Moab. Bike racks too!

What grease did you use at last repack? If the red grease turned black that’s heat. Sounds like you know what from what but is there a chance you had them too tight? Toyota can’t provide a non Chinese bearings? I’m just going through my new to me 01 LC with 134K. Bearing repack is next up. Am I recalling correctly that the spindle nut is 55 mm?Decided to check my wheel bearings as part of chasing a “wah wah wah” I get from 45-55 mph. I repacked then 25k miles ago, and the Timken bearings only have 85k since new. No play at all. The nuts were hand tight. Right side black grease around the bearings. Driver side I was greeted with dark black grease on outer, and red on inner. Outer bearing was shot. I couldn’t get a good bearing today, the best was a Napa Chinese one. I’ll change it out next repack. I’m baffled how that bearing wore out so fast. I’m pretty anal about following the book on this job.

I used Mobil 1. I couldn’t get a Toyota bearing for four days, and really needed to wrap it up on the weekend. I use the fish scale to get 12-15 lb of breakaway, and don’t pay attention to the torque. What grease did you use at last repack? If the red grease turned black that’s heat.
