@brando1

What's the story on the "new tires(way to soon)"? Have the Ridge Grapplers not met expectation?

I have a habit of killing all tires, these tires will make it a couple more months, but between the florida coral, and the trip to HIH, they are showing the abuse. I think I will end up around 15000 miles when they get replaced.
But I cannot blame the tires. And I am pretty sure I will get the some ones again, may try the Trail Grapplers.

I liked some of the other style wheels they had, and they fit nicely, but I wanted grey wheels to match the trim of the truck.
The tan wheels above are awesome, a buddy of mine has them on a Jeep, thats where I first saw the Black Rhino wheels

For my first "real" hundy mod I picked up a set of sliders on my way home from work and installed them. I was skeptical that it'd be as easy as the instructions make it out to be, but it actually was!

They look great! And how nice it must be to be able to pick up a set of sliders. Here on the east coast, we pay shipping.

Your second pic had me confused for a sec. "WTF did he mount them so damn low for?" Haha!

Did Driver Side manifold this weekend and went with OEM Toyota.. These forums have been a lot of help as far as tips. Here's a couple tips I found helpful as to not mess with Steering, thanks to OTRAMM:

- Lift engine and I put a couple 2x4's under mounts, so not to leave jack under oil pan
- Remove Dispstic

And Boom... Your Done, just like that ... :) 8 hours later... :(

Stupid Noise is Gone and Sounds Sooooo Much Better Now.....

Busy weekend chasing down a random misfire. Found the coils 2,4,6&8 covered in oil.

Replaced...valve cover gaskets, Spark plug gaskets, Coils and plugs on both sides. When that didn’t fix it completely, I located a vacuum leak between cylinder 1&3.
And then replaced intake gaskets.

The leak was confirmed when I found the lower intake gasket completely cracked in half. Almost looked and felt like plastic. Seems odd to have a plastic gasket in that location though. Everything is back together a running good as new.

Found a big brown box in my driveway when I got home from work today! My son must have signed for it when it arrived! Thanks Jason @reevesci I can't wait to dive into these and get them on the truck!

Past few weeks, but drilled out and tapped frame holes to install skids. Noticed a small leak from the radiator/transmission cooler that another clamp on the transmission line did not resolve, so replaced radiator/thermostat/hoses and new SLL. Thanks to @2001LC and @abuck99 for their extensive discussion of replacement options, went with a spectra rad and gates hoses.
Got the skids installed and went wandering for performance testing purposes.

This happened yesterday.

Sneak peek of what came in the mail yesterday. Big thanks to @kelly saad for these awesome buckets. Just need to line a few things up paint and install the 7" Headlights.

Looks like that mount tab got bent in shipping. Lameo UPS, they are chucking my boxes again. Easy enough to bend it back though. Glad you finally received them.

One BIG update (new inner/outer tie rods and lower ball joints) and one “saws all” update (removed resonator). The old inner tie rods were trash as was one of the LBJs. Had to get the vehicle aligned again as I couldn’t quite get it just right. Thankfully have the free lifetime alignment from Firestone. Resonator delete made no difference. Still drives the same with no increase in noise. Nice to have the clearance though as my resonator looked like it went a few rounds with Mike Tyson.

Went with the 555 LBJs and Tie Rods from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters. EXCELLENT customer service and super quick shipping. Can't say enough good things about he and his team. Highly recommend parts through them.

Did my second oil change since owning. Used synthetic Mobil1 5W-30, 5k miles, drained maybe 6¼-6½ quarts... I don't know if I have a small leak (couldn't find anything (?)) or I'm burning, or it's just normal at 175k now. Put in 7Q again, Toyota OEM filter this time, and one of those Fumoto Drain Valve's (thanks to @suprarx7nut for clueing me in on that via his website) and I'll check the oil more frequently this time and top off.

For anyone who does the Fumoto. make sure you actually tighten it with a crescent wrench. I was stupid and only hand tightened at first, and dripped some oil, not much, thankfully, but yeah (I know it says to, I'm just an ass).

Also threw on a new radiator cap, and an oil change sticker thanks to @NLXTACY (they're so not necessary but IMO I love em).

Gonna send off an oil sample to Blackstone as well.
And got these cool maintenance logs from a Kickstart I backed a while ago called Petrolog, very nice looking and nifty little books. I know a spreadsheet works just fine, and I'll make one as well, but I like the hard copy to keep in the truck just in case. Also good for long trips to track mileage and stuff.

That's about it til I do some other things planned for this upcoming week, or whenever I have time.

Upgraded the headlight bulbs to 9012 (low beam) and 9011 (high beam). Takes 10-15 minutes including moving the battery out of the way.

Also installed a Pfran LED upgrade kit including the back up lights which are really nice. Too bad I burned my thumb on a back up light that wasn't cool yet. Ouch...

And SPC UCA's and rear spring spacers showed up today. Waiting for OEM CV shafts to show up so I can get rid of the darn vibration from the crappy aftermarket shafts.

Chris

This is the only pic I got but installed upper and lower ball joints, both CV shafts and changed the front diff oil. Couldn't have been possible without Evan at Pro Care Auto in St. George UT. those guys are THE Toyota shop here in SW Utah.
