here are the speakers I used (I mis-stated in a previous post I used Kenwoods in the rear, but I used Alpine all around)

Also added the Alpine powered subwoofer in the rear…. which remains a work in progress…

I do have an extra set of the 5-1/4” Alpines if someone has interest (my original plan was to cut out larger holes and use in the rear door panels, but in the end decided against cutting my newly recovered door panels)

Thanks for the info. So you did 4" all around? Or 5.25" up front and 4" rears?

Nothing crazy, but I removed the shifter console and covered it with carbon fiber vinyl. I really like the look. Now I want to cover more with it. I also want a nicer looking high-low shift knob now too. View attachment 3999463
This looks great. Is it like paint prep and you can't have any scratches underneath or it shows through? I would imagine not but thinking of doing the same to my console. Thanks

Still running around Utah. I lost a center cap so if anyone has one (especially in the Moab area) let me know please 🙏

Yes they do, depending on what color you need. I know the black and white are still available. I ordered them from Partsouq.
For the white, only this P/N below still exists so you have to cut them to do the rear flares. Not sure about black or other colors.
The flare gaskets took a lot of patience to do. My advice is to get a couple extras.

Thanks for providing the part number. I just ordered 6 packs of this stuff from Toyota. Received my package and it looks nice!

I do have a question, I noticed some sections of the new gasket have little "waves" or "ripples" whatever you want to call them, same as in the picture you posted of the gasket still sealed inside the package. Did that give you any trouble during the install? I'm trying to figure out if using a little bit of heat (with a hair dryer) or even running a steamer might help remove those small wrinkles in the gasket?

I Google'd the part number and the pictures they have on Patrsouq (check my link) also show gaskets with similar "issues" so I'm thinking it's normal.

I just ordered a few small parts I couldn't find in the US, only $30, and they hit me with a $15 tariff plus a $17 processing fee, more than doubling the price.
Still cheeper than the dealer?

An 80 with a rucksack. What'll they think of next?
In the picture in question I just made winch hill one on Fordyce trail without winching, body damage or breakage and all you can think of is a rucksack. 🤷‍♂️ their actually called a trasharoo 😉
My 80 is a no frills all business trail rig made to tackle obstacles just like this.
Hell it doesn’t even have a after market stereo 😜

Finally dove in and replaced front rotors, calipers, and re-packed bearings. Went with OE Refurbished Calipers - as luck would have it one of them was not correct, will have to wait another week for the replacement to arrive. Even with, one old one still on braking is 100% more responsive.

I think the ripples are normal, all of mine had them. Probably from being coiled up in the package.

I laid mine out straight out in the sun while I was removing the flare for install of the new gasket and it seemed to help. Some of the ripples laid flat during install though.

That's great to hear. Thank you!
