My LandCruiserPhil sway bar end link ball joints are completely shot. I tried injecting grease into the ball but no luck. One is seized and requires a tremendous amount of force to move. Replacements arrive today.

I replaced my front sway bar bushings two weeks ago. Apparently I didn't tighten the bolts down for my sway bar drop brackets and lost one of the brackets. Since the front sway bar wasn't doing much, I removed the whole sway bar and took the Cruiser for a spin. Body roll and driving dynamics are not as bad as I thought, but once I have weight in the vehicle and a family of four, I could see this being a handful on twisty roads. I will make new drop brackets and reinstall the sway bar.

New Diode Dynamics fog lights are on the way to replace my Amazon lightbar.

I actually look my photo and put it in Photoshop to determine fog light placement.

Updated the front bumper to an ARB and added the Apex Badlands 12k lb winch (synthetic rope).

The winch was a PITA to get mounted properly…I was happy to have people who knew what they were doing and help.

She’s growing up so fast!

All these ARBs. My ARB wasn’t up to the task so I have it removed and making it better. ARB 2.0 in the pipeline.

I bought that same winch as a placeholder until I could afford a nice Warn…. I’ve used it a few times now and like it so much that I may just leave it.

Road trip yesterday to pick up a "free" Honda 4wheeler. It's a 1996 with one flat tire, dead battery, front brake line frozen, will not shift into N, likely needs a carb rebuild, plus who knows what else. But it was free  . Later swung by Tilda Bogue to pick up some 60 series parts that @Meshal acquired for me. Hung out with @wngrog a short time then @cruiserinsanityand I rolled back to AL.

I put in a new dist. O-ring, the original had been slightly seeping for a while. Before i took it out, I marked the position of the arm and the dist body/nut, reinstalled it. It ran fine, but after a couple days I decided to check timing g and found i was about 3* slow, so adjusted it back to 3* and just went through my first tank of around-town driving, (with daily 15 mile stretches at highway speed, 70mph) and averaged 14.6mpg.

You think the Badlands winch is a "placeholder"? Sounds like you got caught up in the name game and not going by results and performance. The Badlands winch is amazing.

I definitely have been pleasantly surprised…

Replaced all four transmission (A442F) solenoids with help from @6th Gear 's excellent video here:
She now shifts flawlessly and I gained some power back as well.
For background, truck started intermittently not wanting to downshift to low at idle several months ago. As time went by it stopped shifting automatically at all, but would shift great manually and no other issues I could observe. No codes, OD light worked, ECT worked, no codes. Everything I read here and elsewhere suggested solenoids, but I started the TS process by changing the fluid and checking/cleaning all external contacts. No love.
Thanks to a suggestion here on MUD, I ordered the Isuzu part numbers (same OEM Aisin solenoids but cheaper than Mr. T parts). Paid $177 all in for all four shipped. Also got Aisin OEM grade FIPG from Amazon.

The day after I ordered the solenoids, the truck finally threw a transmission code (code 62, pointing to #1 shift solenoid).
The job was not "complicated," but it was messy, time consuming, and challenging, mostly due to the accessibility of three of the 20 10mm bolts that hold the pan on. Took about 6 hours with at least an hour of that fighting with those three bolts, both on and off. And some down time waiting for the fluid to completely drain (beer break).

What website did you order your solenoids from?

All back together, pretty much every piece of rubber replaced. New A/C compressor, new alternator, new starter, new radiator, new fan clutch and fan, new water pump, new injectors and fuel filter. Rebuilt VAF, and the list goes on!! New harmonic balancer.

Installed new radius arms to my HZJ80 and removed the caster plates as it had excessive caster and causing diff spring perch to upper spring seat misalignments that affects spring rates due to springs being bent constantly.
also was looking to give the diff a slight push due to 315s on a 50mm lift.
ended up using these Super Pro arms. Updated Version of their (previous designee) that i was eyeing off for a while but once i could get my hands on there new ones Part Number (TRC1216) i haven't see many people using them from what i can find from Facebook pages eg . thought id give them a try was going to go the Blackhawk ones but there on back order and getting these for around 450$ off retail price i couldn't go past the deal . plus this will suit my needs with a 50mm lift . "These arms will do 50mm to 75mm or 2-3" (note there is a set of arms that suite 4" and bigger lifts) .

4° of caster @ 50mm
2.5° of caster @ 75mm

(Potentially could run the 4" arms at lower lifts eg 3" 75mm to gain more caster)

They have a polyurethane bush at the chassis end with two options for offset tube or concentric inner tube and genuine style rubber bushes on the diff side with the caster built into the arm . 80/105/70s

i ended up getting some photos of the before of how bad my spring alignment was and a few photos of the stock arms overlaying the new super Pro arms.
the arms where identical length from chassis bush to first bush on the arm but you can offset the arm up to 12mm by using the offset bush tube . that was just the amount i was looking for with my size lift Tyre combination.

Thought I would post on here for people that didn't know about them or where interested in these arms.

I couldn't add anymore photos but this is how the caster plates made it sit with only 50mm lift definitely not really that practical it definitely works but would go the caster correction rubber bushes in the stock arms like we did with my misses 2002 GXL HZJ105 on 50mm lift

Nice radius arms but they are pricey compared to Delta or Trail Tailor radius arms. And both offers longer lenth over stock to allow for bigger tires. Did you considered Delta/TT?

I did look into Delta arms but unfortunately from me to ship them here to Australia would have cost me a fair bit in shipping also being able to purchase the superpro ones via my trade account from my local automotive parts store and have the lifetime warranty on there bushings and I have run superpro bushings in my personal cars before and customers cars with awesome feedback and quality I thought they would be the right option for me and seeing 35" are pretty much illegal in Australia and my state I don't think I will be going any bigger in tyres or lift size so the small 12mm push is all I needed . Cheers brad

I really like the looks with that visor. It almost has an airplane cockpit look for some reason. Anyways, a sharp looking 80!

Just curious.....how does it drive high speed ? does the windshield visor acts like a parachute? I know there is an opening for the wind to pass through but is that enough at 70+ mph? (113kmp)?

Those arms are beautiful.

Finally got around to installing my Blue Sea dual USB. It slid right into the location next to the rear heater w/o any cutting. I tied into the cigarette power that way it is a switched source, and I used a 3 amp fuse.

And yes I am aware that my throttle cable knob is upside down. Have full intention of fixing that eventually.

And onto the important part of the install. I tried out my magnetic coozie that I got from Warn/Factor 55 at Overland Expo West.

Thanks I didn't actually install it , the old guy I brought it off installed it and I believe it's made for the 80 series , some people over here in Australia 🦘 use the visor off a 79 series UTE (Truck) and apparently trim the mounting bracket and they fit also but they really bow alot higher in the center from memory , it's very common in Australia to have a visor on almost everything 😂 a lot of your Ford falcon and holden commodores mainly the Utes the young fellas put them on , but yes pretty common over her on the 80 series to fix a visor.

Also there is a Australian company that hand make visors that are like the truck Kenworth style or like a peter built style drop visor he is called (triple SSS sunvisors) he is on Facebook.

I'll add some photos of the other cars I'm mentioned
