Doing the usual oil leaks, power steering pump and all the hoses, new coolant hoses, cleaned injectors and new associated filters and hose, new vacuum hoses, new charcoal canister. Pretty much Major PM this truck has been neglected and can use it.

Did a bittersweet road trip to finish moving all our stuff from old home in SW Montana to new home in Southern Oregon.

The good folks at Overland Cruisers in Belgrade, MT had my truck for a couple months sprucing it up, and with a new lift pump, diesel injectors, rearview camera and front seats and a rear seat delete, I towed comfortably for the first time since owning this truck. ~900 miles in 2 days across MT, ID and OR averaged 16.3 mpg, nothing melted and nothing failed. Great success!

Wow, thats a lot of nice work! Is it the camera angle or are those two different size seats?

Redid the lower foam on my seat. Much better. I was trying to figure out how to save up $$$$ for some Scheel-Manns but I should be good for a while now.

Then made an impulse buy on the local classifieds. ARB drawers out of a 100 Series. They've been well-taken care of and after a little cleaning are good as new. Gonna hit up Cruiser Outfitters next week to get some hardware and 80 Series wings.

Question - has anyone added drawers to an 80 that didn't come from the factory with 3rd row seats? I'm thinking about reinforcing the mounting bolts like you would with a roll cage in a race car.
was that a shop that did it or you? what did it end up running ya?
 
Ready to press in new races and noticed some marks on the inside of the hub. No big deal? Can I proceed and press new races in? Or is this not good.

That'll be fine; typical farm boy chiseling to remove the old cups. This is why you should use a brass drift and not a steel chisel.

If you can, get the high spots cut down with a round file; it'll help you get the new cups in straight. Whatever you do, don't try to rub them out with anything going around the ID - that'll open the bore and you do not want that. If you don't have a round file, or don't trust your filing, leave it. The hub is softer than the cup and it'll move once the pressing starts. The key is to get the cup in straight.

Good eye, and yes, two different sizes. Regular size for the passenger seat, XL for the driver. Turns out the only difference is that the back is taller on the XL, but otherwise the dimensions are the same.

Thank you. Great advice. I felt around and could not feel any high spots. All races went in strait!

Do you have the 12v or 24v diesel? Congrats on your new home...I hope it's something you are looking forward to. Do you guide?

12V out of a '93, now 105k miles on the swap.

And thanks, we're excited about new home but nothing compares to Montana... for me. Steelhead are pretty exciting, however. Only guide my friends and family, not professionally!
