He tipped it up on two wheels also but his rock sliders save him and he was able to back out unassisted with a spotter.

Got the steering box rebuilt with a 105 sector shaft, new box hardware and steering u-joint (hardware from amayama, ujoint from Toyotapartsdeal)
This box had been messed with before (it was an fzj box on a fj) lots of stripped out items, and I was missing 4 recirculating balls out of the worm gear (available through Toyotapartsdeal under 60 series parts)
Hydro assist is on its way from redneck ram. Looking forward to some easier steering in the rocks.

Rear axle service. Plus all new brakes except hard lines.
Managed to get this far in the rear. Wrestled both rotors as the parking brake innards were all foobard. I don’t remember when I services the pbrake last. Also never serviced the rear axle
Bearings look ok. Zero grease only gear oil!!

No, I didn't. Didn't even know there was a guy on here from Dobinsons, but I will touch bases with him and see what he says.

Picked up some nice black flares and mirrors off a parts rig. Just missing the driver side rear door flare if anyone has one laying around. Thinking black flares might look good on the blue 80.

So I set out to finally fix my windshield wiper system with some new hose’s and joints. I had already replaced the pump at the reservoir and nozzles on the hood without any improvement. After going through the hose’s and joint I didn’t get any improvement. I’m wondering if this pump in the photos is the culprit. I tried to look it up on Partsouq but I couldn’t figure out the part number. Anyone know the part number or have any other suggestions?
Did you test the pump ?
I had my wife push the fluid button and while I can hear the reservoir pump working, I can not hear anything from the pump in question. I am getting some flow to the windshield, but not much and the stream barely makes the glass, the rear window is not getting any fluid.

I took mine apart and glued a tire patch to the metal disk where the original rubber had failed. It worked for about a year before failing again,. I never use my rear window washer/wiper so i just removed the valve entirely and rerouted the hoses.

I removed the front Y-pipe and cat from my DD and installed it on the youg(est) one's 80. The cat on that one was swiss cheese. Lots of rust grinding, and had to reuse the Cat-to-Cat gasket, because Toyota has deemed it unnecessary to maintain. Bummer. Fortunately, it was good enough to reuse for the near term, while I search for a replacement. Both mine and hers have the OEM exhaust parts, but hers were eaten away; odd for a NC truck, but it had been in the mountains for a spell. Had to replace the front rubber cushion as well. It was there, but in two pieces, so not exactly functional.
Hope that cuts down on the redneck appeal from the exhaust, for now.
I had only planned to replace the front cat, but after everything was done, my "last look before turn over' inspection revealed the rear cat now has pinholes, so that's now on the menu for next weekend. That one's really rusted; I think it's going to be a cut out removal. Bonus is I get a new die grinder.
I bought a new Y-pipe and front cat from Magnaflow; the other 80 gets all my usable parts when something breaks. Mine gets new ones; I'm building a ship of Theseus.

All shined up for the ColoYota Expo and swap meet today. At the Precision Land Cruisers' booth with Randy's new catch can design for boosted engines installed. Met so many Toyota offroad enthusiasts and vendors. Lots of fun!!
Redid the lower foam on my seat. Much better. I was trying to figure out how to save up $$$$ for some Scheel-Manns but I should be good for a while now.
Then made an impulse buy on the local classifieds. ARB drawers out of a 100 Series. They've been well-taken care of and after a little cleaning are good as new. Gonna hit up Cruiser Outfitters next week to get some hardware and 80 Series wings.
Question - has anyone added drawers to an 80 that didn't come from the factory with 3rd row seats? I'm thinking about reinforcing the mounting bolts like you would with a roll cage in a race car.
