Went camping and exploring up around Mt. Adams with friends. We couldn’t go on some of the trails because of the fires (lightning strikes, and now mostly contained) but we still had a good time.

New belt moldings all the way around, finally.

Well, the last few weekends, I've been removing, cleaning, repairing, rebuilding the front and rear axles (re-gear to 4.88), and the entire brake system. New front axle shafts and birfs, with all new related bearings, seals, etc. I have been trying to be thorough- if it comes off the rig, I want it to be cleaned, wire brushed, acid washed, and painted. First time using POR-15 paint- I'll be very happy if it does half of what everyone claims as to length of protection. I wish I could remove entire axle housings to paint, but will wait for a future time slot. Scope creep has gone into pulling suspension arms for cleaning and paint, since my rattle can paint job when I replaced bushings is about done.
I was thrilled to get the rear axle put back together yesterday, and should have my new front gears & locker ;) (I'm already in there, RIGHT?!?!) back from the shop this week & begin re-assembly of the front axle.

Pics or it didn't happen, right?

Wish I could post pictures. My boss asked me to stop posting customer cars online. I definitely respect that.

At work I'm currently replacing a locked front axle housing for a LC 80. They had birf soup already, the whole thing is covered in decades of dirt and grease. Somehow they broke one of the lower arm mounts clear off. Leaving the housing with 2 gaping holes to leak out gear oil.

Those diffs are heavy/awkward to remove and install aren't they? Lol.

I knocked out the rear DS window motor, rubbers and molding last weekend and need to do the other doors. I see you needed to remove the side mirrors to replace the fronts.
Shouldn't. I didn't.

not sure how someone can put it on with the mirror in place. the front clip makes it darn near impossible to get in with the mirror in the way.
as we all know, there's more than one way to skin a cat....

Yesterday and today I’m installing a Kenwood flat screen stereo into my 80 and oh boy is this fun… took it out of a 4runner that I’ll need to also reinstall a radio into.

I’ve got wiring diagram links if you need them, lol…

This is my weekend!

What a mess! A chaotic mess, but I see the flow!
Wish me luck that all goes well and works again! Lol

Buy a wiring adapter, if your stereo harness is still intact it’s plug and play
