Good job! On another topic, looking at the picture, are you sure the steering column is well engage in the gear box shaft? Better be sure then sorry!
Yes, why? The inter-shaft is splined with a ujoint on the end which connects to the steering box under a the cover. I think what you are seeing is just the end splines on the intermediate shaft?

I need to do this.......
So far I think it's worth it. With 3.12 Low range and 4.88s on 35's my 80 struggled to hold itself to a stop in low range. After deleting the ABS and LSPV the brakes don't even know I'm in low range. I drove around the block a few times testing the brakes and overall they do a much better job.

And never look back! I wish I would’ve done my ABS/LSPV delete sooner.
It's officially next on my list. I'm already part time so it's a no brainer.

🤞🏼🫰🏼

@COYS
Best of luck. I don’t miss those days ! So stressful. one of the perks of moving out of California for me.

Late post...also, I haven't posted in a while because I went through a surgery. A mass (ALMOST the size of a tennis ball was found at the base of my neck) so it was removed. Just felt like a very small cyst or something.

So, I haven't been up to much in the past month.
But this past Sunday (2/25/24), I went out in search of a spot to get some snow shoeing in before the snow melted.

SPOILER...The snow had already melted (Larch Mtn in Washington)

Another one going together, this one will have a little higher compression should be about 10:1 doing a little experimenting because it’s going on my rig. See if we can get a little more power out of it. Bored with 1.0mm over pistons.

Hope everything goes well with your surgery and recovery. Hope it's 1 and done. Good looking rig.

hahaha...that's the procedure to remedy an ABS light? I need the page number in the service manual for this one. 😁

haha, the light is still on but for a legit reason now, I'll likely pull the bulb the next time I'm in the dash. I've been meaning to remove it because it just struggling to brake in 4lo

I was working on a few things yesterday and had the passenger front fender (and snorkel) off and I noticed these cracks. I assume from body flex and making contact with the snorkel inlet where is passes through here to the airbox.
I welded up the cracks and all is well again in the world. Might be worth checking on your own rigs although I'm sure it's not a certainty on every rig with a snorkel.
