Didn't there used to be a thread for showing off trash recovered with our 80 series. I searched but couldn't find it. Something like "what did you clean up with your 80 series this weekend?

Anywase here is today's trash haul. The bonus was a length of chain.

Tutone. Pretty rare.

This arrived from BH3D printing. Seems nice and it will be great to have some decent cup holders. The inserts are for different size containers.
Also did a transmission fluid exchange, used approximately 8 quarts. I just did the pan drain and refil. On the HDJ81, the trans fluid cooler is part of the main radiator. I found the 2 lines from/to the tranny but I didn’t want to try to figure out which line was which and make a huge mess. Next time I am going to try the “Rodney“ flush and figure out which lines are which. I also adjusted the throttle cable per the FSM. Shifting is much smoother and much more distinct. Can definitely feel each gear shift and TC lock up.

Bought new wipers for the LC. Might seem a little weird since I live in AZ the forecast calls rain 3-4 days next week. My front wipers would chatter like no tomorrow and the rear was like a super wet sponge just spreading the water everywhere.

The hood struts are slowly dying on my ‘97 so installed factory Toyota hood rods on both 80’s.

Loved shooting my Henry X 357 mag lever rifle suppressed so picked up the 44 mag version too. Of course I had to go test it out even though it was raining pretty hard. Brought along my Beretta M9A4 too because I hardly ever shoot it.

Replacing the water pump tomorrow:

Edit: this is a fairly easy repair in good weather.

Got a new battery. After going through several Super Start 34/78s over the years I got tired of paying almost $200 a piece when they bit the dust. I saw that the Duracell has 1035ca and 840cca, it knocks most other brands out of the water number wise. For $139 and a 3 year warranty from Sam’s Club it was hard to pass up. This pig was a tight fit in the battery tray even though it’s the factory size! I also had to reroute some wiring as I don’t have the side posts to utilize like I did on the 34/78 about doesn’t look as clean as it did with the other options.

Now you’ve done it. You’re going to need a model 29 to go with that rifle.

I soldered in a diode for auto-up driver’s window, and installed Honda odyssey windshield sprayers.
