That thing circled is an air temperature sensor. Look in your FSM to confirm. Yes on your 97.

No other airbag sensors other than the impact and inertia sensor in the center console.

Do a search here for air temperature sensor and you'll see other pics and people asking the same question.

I am 99% sure that thing you circled in red is an airbag sensor. My old 91 did not have this sensor and I have had two very knowledgeable cruiser heads both tell me that thing is an airbag sensor on my 97....

Maybe someone else can chime in because I could definitely be wrong lol. It would be nice to know because every time I remove my bumper I get real nervous putting it back on.... calling @OGBeno

An airbag sensor doesn't need to be up front. It's an impact, interia style sensor.

I built some seat relocation brackets and got myself 4 or 5 more inches of leg room. If you're over 6 foot tall, these 80s are super uncomfortable. I am 6'6 and this mod was an absolute must. Also replaced the seat gears with brass gears so now they move back and forth like new. Took it in a road trip this weekend and it was so much more enjoyable to drive.

That looks like it too a lot of geometry and figuring out time. How many prototypes did you go through before you were happy?

Easy way to tell if something has anything to do with the airbag is look for a yellow wire connector. All automobiles use yellow wire connectors on all airbag components.

Put in a new window run which fixed my wind noise. Decided to sound deaden the door with Noico and run my ditch light wiring.

Then I got a little too into it and fabbed up a new steel door panel. Just the one for now. Worked pretty well, so plan to do the other 3.

Will probably add a custom door pocket to it at some point.

Bad ace, hopefully you do a good write up on these door panels.

I’ll try to take better step by step pics for my next one. It’s super easy though. Just pop your card off and disassemble. Decide what you want to remount. (I skipped the pocket only).
Then I just traced my card and necessary holes onto 18ga steel sheet. This was probably overkill and 20ga would be okay.

I cut it all out using a dremel, drill, and angle grinder.

Attached it by using 1/4-20 nutserts into the existing holes for the old card clips.

I also moved the light to a space with an opening in the door as it used to reside in the pocket and needs extra depth to mount flush.

Finish with paint or whatever you want and then re attach your plastics and speaker.

I deadened the backside of the sheet, but be careful of thickness. Mine was a little fat around the door handle and speaker.

I'll use this for aprs.

Sunday I took out the abs and lspv.. It kept engaging while going down hill slowly on Turkey claw.

I made this spacer to mount the 90 degree union on the rear of the frame where the lspv used to be. Keeps the tubes from vibration and fatigue. Also I am leaving the old lspv tube there as storage for spare brake line tube if i rip another one.

Put a bit of shine to it, quite surprised at how good it turned with minimal effort and a sloppy cut and polish job. My driver door was super oxidized and it looks way better now. Was the first time I've done any detailing to the outside since ownership sadly...

According to Brian at PDI 15% better than a new standard one, feels like more than that compared to my old one. I had to grind about 3mm to allow clearance

My FM antenna has been flopping around inside my fender for a couple of years now.

Remove the old antenna and then tape the antenna cable to your old fm antenna from inside the cab really well and pull it through the firewall. Mount the new antenna mount to the fender. Then attach the cable..

Specifics on the vehicle tranny. 1994 a442f. 4 solenoids from Amazon $25 per piece. Cheaper than from Cobra Transmission and certainly cheaper than from the dealership. Boxed as Isuzu OEM parts, parts marked as genuine Aisin. I know this has been covered in the past but figured it doesn’t hurt to share it again.

Update. It’s been a few weeks since the repair. Trans is working flawlessly. What led to the repair? In a slow acceleration situation, such as after picking up a drive thru order, I noticed zero idle torque induced movement, like I was stuck in a higher gear. When I hit the gas from there, the engine would rev high as if starting from 2nd.

This happened intermittently so I left it alone until it happened at a stoplight and the OD light started blinking. Having an OBD1 truck, I jumped the port terminal wires and it came back with a “62”. “Shift solenoid 1 disconnected” (something like that).

Minus breaks, I could have had the job done in 2 hours. The most tedious part of the job is draining the trans.

Luckily, I had a nice gasket in place, no cracks and still very flexible so I reused it. If FIPG or silicone were used, it would have taken much longer.

Looks like a tikka, I'm guessing 300wm or 7mm RM. Is that a factory option with the heavy barrel/sissy whistle and adjustable stock? They shoot nice enough from the factory you usually dont need to mod those things.

I dig the shooting bench. You build that? Details? seats on the far side but it looks like it was built for a lefty.
