Bought my first one this weekend. Unfortunately someone did an ABS delete and had no clue what they were doing. So my next weekend off will be spent fixing break lines.

from what I can gather, previous owner knew of a slow power steering leak, went to the beach with everything coated in ATF, and then sold it to me very shortly after.

A large portion of things are caked in this silty sand mud ATF mixture.

I am trying to be very clean / delicate with cleaning around the power steering components, I do not want any sand inside of them.

Maybe on my lunch break tomorrow I will use some of the foaming degreaser, and really hose that section of the engine bay down 🤔

Invite me next time! ;)
I will try to remember :). A bunch of us from MNOverlander fb group go up regularly to iron range or mesabi. Recommend joining the group, i actually am organizing a trip to moab for some rocklanding. I need another cruiser in the fleet of jeeps and 4Rs

Swapped road tires back on in place of the mudders. Road trip coming up Wednesday and I figured there’s no sense in leaving the knobby tires on.

Been using the LX as my daily since the work truck got hit..

Really is a privilege to drive such a special vehicle! Brings back memories of a 17-year-old me scrounging up pocket change for gas to drive my 94.. that rig wasn't as nice and this one ain't perfect but a good buff/ wax makes a huge difference! Need to fork up the money for clear glass so I can tint this thing

Looks like a clean rig!

What are you using for a cargo cage?

Maybe the bar is out of spec..........

Don’t think so, it’s not a cheapo.

It’s alright, we’ll get it sorted.

Cheers

I can't remember the last time I used the CB radio I had in the ashtray location. So I ordered a Wits End Useless Ashtray Switchplate. This was great because I had my two main light switches in the Delta Shifter console, but I also had three other light switches that used random switches and were in some random spots. I got three new switches from OTRATTW that were labeled as I needed them and replaced all the random switches and moved them to the Wits End Switchplate. Much better than what I had.

That's nice and clean. I like it. I won't say that I'll *never* remove it but I kind of like the fact that my 80 has the ash tray and cig lighter...I don't use either. Guess it must be 90's nostalgia but that and the electric tube radio antenna are things on the truck that give that Easter egg feel of "this is a classic vehicle with some old school secrets"...call me crazy but :flipoff2:

I get it. Want to upgrade the head unit, but I have memories of using my dads in his 93 back in 93, so for now it's staying in there. But the sound is not good at all and I no longer own a CD or cassette.

I also like the ash trays in the third row, for the the toddlers.

My 9 year old asked about the ash trays.

Son: dad what are these?
Me: ash trays.
Son: for what( no one he's been around really smokes)
Me: for people's cigarettes.
Son: but kids sit back here, they smoke?

Swapped ARB roof racks with @codyaustin5. He wanted a shorter rack to use his sunroof and I needed a longer one for a possible rtt in the future.

Impressed with the rack overall. Super light and easy to install. Would be much easier if I gained a few inches in height, but I seem to be going the other way the older I get.
