Converted the Headlights on the 80 from 1 piece to the quad style. I've always loved the quad headlights. And sufficient lighting without blinding oncoming traffic were priorities, and I had not found a reputable brand that met these requirements.
But somehow Headlight revolution/the retrofit source (TRS) came up on my radar when looking at Dapper Lighting, (who makes some good lighting too). After watching their video on 4x6 LED retrofits, the Morimotos piqued my interest and I sealed the deal (pun intended) and went with the Morimoto Sealed4 LEDs.
Buddy from 'Stralia sent me 2 complete headlight units he got from a junkyard.
Found out that the 80 series headlight circuit has a weird switching in positive when going to high-beams. So ordered a harness from Ultraflex 4x4.
The clearance lights are skinnier than the standard clearance lights. They use a smaller bulb. (Need to figure that out later). So those are needed.
The light pattern from these (once adjusted are outstanding.
Above image is semi adjusted - Low Beam. These lights have a nice cut off, like proper projector headlights.
Above image is with high beams on.

Looks like 80 knuckle stud.
Check your front Hubs Flanges.
EDIT: The size of that broken stud relative to that glove is pretty big. Unless that glove is an XXS glove.
Could be from the trunion Knuckle Stud like @TYM4FUN said.

Yup, i don’t have a business or anything but I make a lot of stuff as gifts and for friends and I stamp that on all the leather stuff I make
Oh well, and it looks like it is not the first one to depart
So I think it is time for my ritual of passage as a 80 owner. What knuckle rebuild kit do you guys recomend?

Oh, do not drive the truck until it's repaired. Not even to the grocery store.
I was already scared pulling the truck back in the garage.
It is already on jack stands. Now I need to start buying parts.

Might want to tear it down in case you find other parts that need replacement.
That is the plan. Rebuilt both sides!
80. The others have different steering parts.

I love the quad look, and where did you source the ARB Led bulbs?
I got them from a guy in Australia through EBAY..
I'll PM you the link if I can find it.
The VW Golf Mark II LEDs will fit in there.
