Started project "tear apart the dash to figure out what's giving the wife respiratory trouble," and got stopped in my tracks when the dash fought back, slicing a deep cut into the back of my hand. Lots of blood. At first I thought I would need a stitch or two, but it seems to be holding together OK now

Also checked out a 200 for sale. It was super nice and priced well, but reeked of smoke, so no dice.

Old trick that works on smoke smell. Get a cheep bottle of vodka, put vodka in a spray bottle and spray down the hole interior. as the vodka evaporates it takes the smoke smell with it 🤷‍♂️ ;)

3D printed some test Toyota electric winch lock handles before finally machining it out of aluminum.

Fordyce - 1151 miles round trip. Left camp at 4am, got back at 1130pm, had a blast, thanks for the invite guys.

P.S. I dont take a lot of pics, usually just looking around and trying to enjoy the moment.

Stupid question time. What size and what brand heater hose did you use for input/output to the heater valve and where did you buy it from? I've looked at several vendors and can't seem to find them or part numbers for a '94. Thanks.
Started replacing some of the heater hoses and heater valve and noticed a portion of the rear heater hardline at the firewall that was very rusted and flaky and looked like it had been leaking. After replacing the hoses ran it and sure enough there was a leak. Pulled the new hoses and bypassed the rear heater with some 5/8 heater hose. Found one with a 90 degree bend at the auto parts store that worked well. Very glad I found the leak in the garage before it became a much bigger leak out on the trail.

Was also experiencing a lot of venting when removing the gas cap. Replaced the charcoal canister with a VC120. Problem solved.

That thing was sitting on Craigslist for quite some time! Are you going to restore or parts truck?
Yes, was on craigslist for nearly six months I think. Mostly because original asking price was like $11k. It slowly dropped to a more fair asking price and we bought it. Plan is to fix the blown head gasket, engine overhaul, brakes, fix extensive body rust, new exterior paint and full interior restoration.

Thanks to @FullyLitLED for the LED dome light upgrade! Thought I'd need instructions, but after removing the fixture it was easy to see the process. Just wear gloves, or you'll blow a fuse, like I did. 😬

Didn't get a before pic in the dark, but if you own an 80, then you already know, lol...

Looks like you need sunglasses at night ;) how did the reverse lights go? Lol
Didn't get to the reverse lights or license plate lights yet. Raining cats and dogs here the last two days. Hopefully this weekend, and will post more pics.

Upgraded the wheels and tires to a set taken off of an FJ Cruiser. They’re a couple inches taller than the wranglers on stock 15s were, and I’m now able to upgrade the brakes with zero anxiety about caliper size.

The hub sticks out far enough on the fronts to cause issues with the center caps, but I’ll sort that out at some point.
