Trying to polish a turd

Slapped a new to me set of C97-146VT springs in up front, they raised my front up so I’m nice and level now. Wow what a ride improvement! Still waiting for the group buy 4X4 Labs rear bumper to do the rears.

Finally got a chance to start working on the old girl again. Had a wrench thrown into my plans though. Wanted to focus on plumbing in the new hydroboost but, Speedway motors dropped the ball. I ordered the parts and paid expedited shipping to have them here Thursday. Still do not have all the parts and they assured me, after they "backordered" some of the parts, I would then have them by Friday. Terrible service.

Anway, redid the rear heater lines, removed some of the sound deadener and re-installed new sound deadener with thermal insulation as well. Moved to the engine compartment and installed the new water pump (preventative) and pulled the steering wheel to send to get recovered. At least I made some progress.

Stared at this mess all weekend, decided it was too hot to be covered in grease. That big stain under the truck is from my ram assist after it decided it no longer wanted to hold steering fluid.

Is that creek crossing @ Sourgrass? Given you drive on the highway quite a bit, how you liking those tires? Thinking of getting the 38s for my next set.

Yup! It's sourgrass.

The milestars arent too bad. I was expecting them to not balance well. They wobble a little on the highway at 75+ but that might be from the wheel weights falling off.

Adjusted the valves on the 3FE. I used forum members recommendation to adjust while the engine was running. It was very straight forward, and the engine runs much quieter now with very minimal chatter. Just remember to adjust at 1/8-1/4 turn. 1/4 turn too tight the engine sputters and rpm drops. 1/4 turn too loose and the valve will start to chatter. its a 2 bananas job

Made some adjustments to the fridge slide and fridge fitment before heading to Idaho for the weekend to celebrate Independence Day with my parents.

At 297K miles the 1FZ is still running well and it makes me smile how smooth the truck cruises at these speeds even with 37" mud tires.

What iron man springs did you have? Are they that much better? I have a iron man kit and I am not impressed. I had stock suspension with 260k so it’s a vast improvement but I feel like the progressive coils could be the missing link.
