Took her on a 400 mile (round trip) weekend to the Washington coast, and had to take some beauty shots of the old girl on the beach:

Went up to Moab for the first weekend of Easter Jeep Safari with my dad (he's a jeep guy) and did some wheeling, it was my first time off-roading in Moab I've only mountain biked there. Crazy how capable these land yachts are! Wish I could have spent more time there, but I had to come back for work. We did the 7 Mile Trail (in a group run through the event), Kane Creek and Behind the Rocks. Hamburger Hill at Kane Creek is pretty F'ing gnarly, there was a two hour backup to get to and through that section. I hadn't seen it until I walked up to see what the hold up was and that was quite the sight, knowing I was somehow going to have to make it up that hill. Glad that I went and got through it all! I had to winch up the ledge I'm 3 wheeling on, as did most of the rigs in line, but it definitely changed my perspective on what obstacles intimidate me now. Behind the Rocks was a fun one too, some pretty gnarly drops and climbs there as well.

We met a random group of 4 rigs at Kane Creek and another group of 4 at Behind the Rocks and they were both awesome, let us tag along in their group and were helping with spotting, BSing, etc. It's a fun event to go even as someone that's not big into Jeeps, so many crazy rigs were on the trails and in town. Scraped the paint on the door some in a tight spot on Kane Creek but other than that came away unscathed and didn't break anything. But now I want 37s (already have 5.29s) and a suspension upgrade, so there's that. Never thought I'd want or need 37s and then Moab happened.

That sounds familiar. I think we all grapple with challenges like that ... and many of us end up with multiple rigs because of it. I look all all the really cool stuff that @jcardona1 and others have done here and immediately want links, 3 piece sway bars, hydraulic steering and coil overs and have to constantly remind myself the truck is supposed to be for exploring, not rock bouncing.

And yeah, I called it "exploring" not "overlanding" because @baldilocks is judgy

For sure! It's easy to get caught up in the Moab fun when in reality I bought the truck to be the ultimate 'exploring' machine and not a Moab specific rig haha. Will have to find the balance!

If you can show me a way to have a super capable rock/ trail rig and somehow keep my body work from getting bent every weekend without having an exo and without needing to develop a love affair with my welder I'm all in. (Admittedly, maybe I just need to be a better driver, reduce my addiction to the skinny pedal and a lot luckier)

Oh, yeah, also under 150K.

How does bent body work ruin the rig for "exploring".... Unless your exploring the malls.
 haha, just messing with ya.

It messes with spousal approval ... And I'm fully aware that if my wife doesn't hate the truck I'm going to get much less static dumping cash in to it. Pretty sure "badly dented" and "permanently broken" would induce wife-80-hating.

Wife's and land cruisers are like water and oil, they don't mix
