Went to beach this afternoon to beat the heat

Regular length shocks, med rear spring/heavy fronts.
I have a bit of sway/wander but thinking its mostly due to the front being too stiff since i don't have a winch in the bumper or dual batt in yet. A bit oversprung still.
Still much much better with the delta parts.
Ok that's the same set up I have.....3 inch lift? I thought it was 50mm. Comes to about inch and a half. Not doubting you just wanted to confirm if the delta arms would really help if I had a lower lift than you. I understood it to be that a lower lift height didn't need as great as a geometry correction. Thanks for being the trail blazer!

I hear you on the bumpers just waiting and hoping for dissent to make a front and rear ones for me, ahem @benc and @Road Apple 😁

General rule of thumb is that if you lift it more than 2.5 inches a geometry correction will be required to get you back to a stock configuration. I drove mine for some time on a 3.5 inch lift with no geometry correction. It worked fine. I eventually purchased and installed Slee's 4 inch lift kit which provides all of the components to get your vehicle back to spec. I purchased their lift because I wanted better performance on pavement as well as off-road. Slee's lift did both.

Rookie question for the group
Found something green leaking from the bottom of my ac pump. I’ve have flushed my green coolant when I got the LX and put red in. What could that green leak be? Is there a green oil inside the pump by any chance?

Yes, A/C oil can be green--especially if it's ever had leak-detection dye added.

From old springs to new lift I went from 19" hub to flare to 22-22.5". closer to 2" overall from what stock should have been.

@thatcabledude this is actually a CB antenna bracket from an old 3rd gen 4runner I had in the past. I bought it from Toytec 8-10 years ago. I just checked and they don't sell them anymore. I think trail tailor and another company may make a similar product.

10-4, thanks. Yeah, there is a few options for the 80s, but they mount down by the tail light. I have the Yota Teq one for CB, but have wanted something mounted higher up on the hatch strut for the GMRS antenna. May just have to make it myself.

Did a little exploring and found another access to a local river. Than I was looking for a new spot close to home for shooting the rifles because I am elk hunting the next couple of weekends. As I was looking for a shooting spot I came across this weird situation of squatters. They were clearly alarmed by my arrival and immediately started pulling tarps over something. They were even raising chickens. The worst part is that the BLM knows about them and won't do anything about the situation.

Looks like a scene from Breaking Bad!

Fabricated a clevis mount for the “unused” to me pintle holes.

1” thick 4” steel bar through welded to a 1/4 inch plate.

this is not bolted to the aftermarket bumper, it is bolted to the rear crossmember.

I cut a 4x3” section out of the aftermarket bumper to fit the unit.

Obstacle: there is a 2” space between the aftermarket bumper and the rear cross member. To torque the bolts down without relying on the 1/4 plate as an anchor, I had to weld four 3/4 ” .120 wall square tube standoffs where the bolts go through. Each is exactly 2” long. I can torque to specs without bending the plate.

next step: weld the plate to the aftermarket bumper and paint.

Concept: originally, I wasn’t going to add a recovery point. I didn’t like how the aftermarket bumper relied only upon the 6 tow hitch frame bolts to anchor to the truck. I wanted to use the rear cross member as well.

@thatcabledude, have you checked out the Diamond K400 series lip mount antenna mounts? Been working great for my Ham setup for a few years now. High on the hatch, but tucked in a bit from the side to avoid the worst of passing brush. If interested I can post pics of that particular weekend project.

- Cheers

Ran that mount on my 80 and 4r for years. Great little mount, never had a issue with even on tight trails.
