I’m in California for a few days. Trying to find some open trails near Irvine. Does anyone know of any?

how far are you willing to drive - Irvine has nothing

@NLXTACY will have local knowledge of LA area trails

Anza Borrego is pretty awesome. The 395 north towards mammoth lakes is a playground and you have access to hundreds of miles of trails all over it - coyote flats above Bishop, Cerro Gordo, lipponcot mine, etc etc

You can sometimes...and I did...get the new and awesome winch from HF for $499. Synthetic line, remote wireless switch, fairlead, etc. I think it's called Badlands. Unless you have to have the 'name brand'
Two weeks ago I saw the Badlands 12K for $300, but that was with cable. The rope version was $400.

Perfect! A few drive is fine. It’s worth it. Headed to Anza Borrego shortly. Thank you

Hopefully fixing the third brake light..... if the diode ever gets delivered

Just finished putting my 3 door lock cylinders back in the truck. My keys would only work intermittently in all the door locks since I bought my truck a few years ago. I had no idea these keys were worn down that bad! I got the key code from the right door lock cylinder and got new Toyota keys made. They all work great now! Unbelievable! I thought I was going to have to get a locksmith out and rebuild them.

Well I guess it would save money if it worked.... mines still not working 😕

You're certain about buying the right diode? I bought the wrong one at first and was a little confusing when I ordered.

Got out of the truck the other day to the sweet smell of antifreeze. Looked under the truck and saw the drip, drip, drip. Heater control valve let go. Got an OEM coming in 2 days from McGeorge. $82. No delears near me had it and they want $120 or more to order it.

Thanks Brodie. I have two bushings coming from Wits End. I didn't realize I would need 3 - guess I'll have to pick up another one. I'll check out the bolts as well. I expect getting the old stuff out will be fun. Time for the Sawzall !
Thanks again - 97LC80
My Borla Cat back system is now installed. Based on my experience: all three OEM bushings are necessary, and I had to drop my spare tire for the installation of the tail pipe section. Unfortunately, the tail pipe section did not sufficiently clear the heat shield that is just aft of the rear axle. After speaking with Borla, they said that they would pay to have a custom exhaust system shop make adjustments. This has been done, and so far so good. Borla also assured me in writing that the work that was done will not affect the warranty. The new system sounds good, but it is somewhat louder than stock.

Well. . started at 4am this morning (Saturday 29 Aug) getting tested for COVID prior to us going to a field exercise this upcoming week. So I officially started quarantine today before we travel.

Since I had time and parts laying around the house, I decided to install the Delta Panhard lift system, the Man a Fre Anti-Sway Bar drop Front/Rear bracket kit, and the Man a Fre 3" Control Arm Drop Brackets.

@Delta VS Supports the troops and gave me a discount for the Panhard. . Thanks brotha. Getting some of these bolts off were a :censor:!! But finally everything lined up.

Call Rick @Manafre and he asked me to take pics of the LC before purchasing parts to ensure the right parts were delivered. Also if you look at the Man a Fre website and something is out of stock, give them a call because it might not be updated on the website. . .like the parts I bought.

Watching Youtube and reading forums, everyone starts with the drivers side installing the drop brackets. I decided to do the passenger side first because it seemed more difficult due to space. Knocked it out with a few trial and errors, then moved to the drivers side. . .my :censor:ing sliders are in the way :bang: Wiggled the U bolt under the bracket and finished up the job.

I have two bolts that I need to drill a little notch in the brackets so I can screw them in. Thats going to wait till tomorrow so the neighborhood isnt too mad a me.

So I've been busy, trimmed down my Metaltech4x4 sliders, drilled out and re-sleeved my jerry can rack, painted my spare wheel to match a little closer and extended my spare tire mount to compensate for the wheel offset.
