Got the bumper primered, painted, and installed. While it was off I re wired the LEDs so you can’t see them. Also painted a few little things while I was in there.

What a sweet piece of gear. I am so jealous to see all your crazy modified 80's. I wish germany would be a more open to such gear.

What kind of tires are those? They look like tractor fronts or aircraft tires.

Bias ply sand tires ( Maxxis DesertMaxx )
Very common over here and pretty cheap.

Pros
Great in soft sand
Very comfortable off-road ( rides better than a AT tire in similar terrain )
if a vehicle spends most of its time aired down off-road in a desert environment they are the some of the best tires.
Costs half the price of a common AT tire

Cons
Not meant for highway service ( doesn't stop every other land cruiser over here from running them daily - I wouldn't recommend it )
bias ply = flat spot even if parked for a few hours
not good in mud
lifespan isn't as long as radial tires

lots of cheap off brand versions in the market, I would only recommend MAXXIS. ( Dunlop makes sand tires too but they aren't as durable from experience ).

Just finished installing the Delta Panhard lift bracket... top bolt of the bracket for the upper rear control arm sucked trying to align it back up.. but it's done.. 30 minute install.. hopefully this will fix that swaying booty some.

Just returned from a 3 day weekend, our first this year ! My beast has been down for almost 2 months as I sorted a bunch of stuff that’s been on my ‘to do‘ list for way too long. The shutdown made it a little easier.....

Added additional trans cooler
New rotors, calipers and pads in all 4 corners
Complete front birf repack
Rear bearing repack and park brake rebuild
Added hydroboost and new Wilwood master cylinder
All new brake lines
All new fluids, all diffs, and engine oil.
Installed sound deadening into all 4 doors and cleaned window runs
Other misc stuff I’m forgetting.....

Headed out to NV and the East fork of the Carson River which is about 4 miles South of Gardnerville, NV.

Camped by the river for 3 days doing not much and just enjoying the surroundings. Pretty decent wheeling to get in and out and the truck performed flawlessly.

Already planning our next trip for the next two weeks....

Were you by the hot springs? Did you see those idiots that tried to cross and lost the SXS and almost drowned their Jeep as well?

You mean Barney Riley hot Springs ? No, never quite made it that far and I prefer to be away from those yahoo crowds.

Last year, while visiting for the first time, my buddy and I ended up helping winch a Taco out of the river before the rangers got there. The idiot had tried to cross the river to the hot springs at 2am Sunday morning, drunk outta his mind with two gals on board, and the Taco rolled and flipped in the water. What a s*** show....

Yeah that sounds about right. That place gets pretty out of hand on the weekends. When I was in high school you could go and you wouldn't see anyone for the whole weekend. It's a shame.
