I cleaned the dust can on my air intake while installing the Wit's End PCV Valve kit (the new hoses make me happy vs. my old crappy ones), I had no idea that the dust can was even there until I saw mention of it on a recent Dirt Every Day Extra (check it out if you have Motor Trend On Demand)

In addition to swapping axles for the magic dial and putting 4.88’s, the ( @inkpot @richardlillard1 @Stikboy9480) did some incredible work, gracias amigos:

1. Added Rear lower control arms (sleeved on 3/16” wall DOM tubing for strength with new OE bushings)

2. Installed Rear spring retainers

3. Radius arms narrowed down ~.3” to help with articulation and OE bushings narrowed to match the arms

4. Installed @NLXTACY caster plates for 4” lift, M16 bolts installed to retain Toyota nuts for the radius arm hardware.

5. Installed Drop brackets for front and rear ABS harnesses

6. Installed @NLXTACY extended brake lines front and rear

7. Installed New OE front panhard bushings

8. Welded/reinforced the frame rail around the steering box/panhard frame mount to prevent cracking along with a gusset for the front panhard mount to strengthen the frame rail

9. Adjusted the transmission kick down cable slightly

10. Straightened the steering wheel, been bothering me for years!

11. Removed 10lbs of dried mud built up along the frame.

Lucky to have a crew like that near you. Us helpless morons need to stick together

Got part numbers for the black mirrors?
8794060130C0 (Left)
8791060190C0 (Right)

Double check my numbers before ordering. When I was a newbie I ordered both from Cruiser parts. They had one in stock, and one they ordered through Earnhardt Toyota, in AZ.

Toyota parts deal shows it as available, my go to dealers show it as NLA. I'm going to guess a few dealers still have them on shelves.

Nice, but put some real belts on that thing while you're at it :)

Today I was finally able to finish up the Marlin Crawler Marlink HD upgraded steering. With concern about the larger diameter tube from Marlin Crawler, I used an angle grinder to grind down the radius arms. All I took off was the ridge on the radius arms and I ended up with plenty of room.

Took the family on a road trip to see Bishops Castle by Pueblo in Colorado. Side trip to but some 6 point wrenches in Pueblo
Mr. Jim Bishop built this castle by himself stone by stone. Started in 1959? at the age of 15. He is still on the property and got to meet him yesterday.
What a creative man and full of stories.
Had not been driving cruiser, 80, myself so wanted to see how it did. Daughters DD.
Full tank of gas and drove like a dream. Filled up today and got 14.5 MPG.
Thought I heard a exhaust leak so checking exhaust. It has been 14 months since head Gasket job. Cruised at 70-80 mph no problem and handled the mountain hills/ turns wonderful. 288k and counting
