Want to thank all the toyota members and especially ih8mud community.
Having looked at the site a few times, the need to be a member was apparent. Being upfront and showing appreciation, is a much better feeling than gathering information without giving back. Will try to be a member who can share and learn with members.
Went into the Toyota market in 1995 after trading in Nissan KC 4x4 truck with 225K. Purchase a T100 4x4 for work. Meet my wife who within 4 weeks of dating went and purchase a 1995 Toyota 4runner. Both of these vehicles save us from serious injuries. We hit a deer close to Buena Vista Co in 1997 and then went over the embankment in the T100. We went end for end 3 1/2 times landing on the passenger side door. Walked away that night in December and was discarged that night.
The 4runner expeceriend a roll over when my wife missed a red light in the east sun one morning and was hit. Both vehicle totaled. Replaced with a new 1998 T100 4x4 and searched for 6 months to get a lancruiser. We had two kids now and 4runner was getting crowded.
Purchased a 1997 Cruiser from private party in Salt lake in 2004 with 78K. Flew there in the morning and drove back that night. After many trips and excursions we now have 276K and the reason for joining ih8mud. At 200k was worried that engine was not gonna last, our mechanic recomended we look at another car. We then purchased 2005 Highlander AWD in 2012?. Well the cruiser kept running until this week when it blew a headgasket after a day of skiing. Now we have a dilema what to do. The cruiser has factory lockers and has been maintaned with all OEM parts. New Catalytic converter, muffler, radiator, michelion 10ply tires, shocks, hoses, front axles mantained etc. Looking to learn from Ih8mud the pros/cons of what to do with FJ80.
Have never had a nicer vehicle and will probaly alway be in cruiser market. 97 FJ80 276K, 98 T100 175K ,2005 Highlander 140K
    Thanks IH8mud for a nice site. yknot123
