got it done in about 8 hours with a bit of guidance. I think it'd go a lot quicker if i'd done it before.

I did all this because I was chasing a vibration that happens in the front end at about 110km/h. the vibration is still there lol. but the wheel bearings were stuffed and needed replacing. same with the front rotors. I guess I'll keep looking for those vibes.

What brake rotors did you go with AMD why these particular ones? How do you like them so far?

Took another trip to Shuteye Peak today. This time I brought a friend along with his newly acquired J**P Rubicon.

It was a good day. I did notice my fuel pump relay is getting very hot. I think I'll take it apart and clean it up. Also going to order a new one from Mr. T.

Those horizontal rock layers are very unique for the area of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Great for climbing on.

I did a few things over the Veterans Day weekend. I installed the Warn 9.5ti winch, finished installing the Metal Tech 4x4 rear control arms and also installed my Marlin Crawler MARLINK HD steering upgrade. I need to get the alignment done on the LC as the steering wheel is off-center now. It has been explained to me how to do it but I would rather have the pros do it.

On other social media platforms, people recommended painting the 555 ball joints. What have people done in the past?

What are the "555 ball joints" in this pic? Do you mean the tie rod ends? I'd paint them and the new bar for rust protection and to blend.

I have a set of the 555 TRE's waiting to be installed, they will be painted before they're on the truck. Bare metal is never good.

Hose 'em down with whatever spray paint is laying around.

Bought Terrain Tamer's high performance rotors and pads, I got them because a buddy has an account with the company and I paid trade price so I figure why not. also bought the swivel hub kit (has the jap koyo bearings, comes with all the seals washers nuts and bearings.) and the stub axles. it's known for being good quality stuff.
so the pads and rotors aren't bedded in fully yet but already a massive improvement. I'm very happy with them so far. I just need extended lines now because the slinky suspension is going to stretch the oem ones.

After getting my HAM expert license, I mounted the ATAS-120A and made some tests with the Yaesu FT-857D (wired up just on the rear seat from the aux batteries) on 20m. I managed to tune in a HAM station from north america - however he did not hear me :-(

So no real contact made ... yet!
try again in the morning before the sun comes up

Yeah, that's deffo one of the plans as soon I find the possibility. Thanks!
oh you're in switzerland? thats actually very impressive range. with our uhf radios we used to be able to hear fishing boats somewhere in the Timor sea from where we were in far north queensland, but as soon as the sun rises and warms up the ionosphere the radio signals disappear

Yeah, HB9 here. Well in theory it should be the other way around, as I understand it. Reflecting F1 and F2 layers start building up and disappear when the sun sets. During the night there is only D, which dampens more than reflecting which I saw as the band got quiet. So depending on time there is also MUF which i need to take into account. Well it's all about finding out how the band works. Will do a more "scientific" approach next time :)

PS: Guy was from region albany as i could hear him work his pile-up. Must have a good antenna, got him with S8+

LOL.

Out of curiousity, what's the next step there? I was showing my daughter this pic and we figure you'd tip it back over, check/fill fluids then drive on and check for any mechanical issues?

What you said and also pull the plugs and crank it over a couple times to blow the excess oil out of the cylinders.

Quick check over, prior to a local club run, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that after 2700 miles, mostly towing my teardrop I have no need to add any oil. Here I was starting the think I may need to address valve guides in the next year or so.

So I installed the @Delta VS arms and I wanted better springs so speaking with a a good Ozzy he suggested these they are a 700# spring for really heavy front ends, and since I have a Cummins and soon bumper and winch these should be perfect @baldilocks it is going to handle really good
