Put in a few hours on my bumper. Then the wife bugged me to work on her 3rd gen runner. Ugh.

Got about 5/16-3/8 gap to the tailgate. Hope its enough. Not sure how to clamp it down yet, but have some ideas.

I made screened, louvered, air vents to use when sleeping in El Guapo in warmer (and potentially wet) weather.

Right before I went camping/riding last weekend, I saw a YouTube video where a guy made something similar for his van. I had already made window screens, but I had to use a tarp two nights in a row because of the threat of rain.

So, yesterday I took a stab at making my own. The panels are corrugated plastic (think nice yard sign material). I cut them to cover the entire window, for privacy and light blockage. Tools: utility knife; Gorilla tape (black and clear); yardstick. I also repurposed (for a 2nd time) the screen and magnets from our old Magic Mesh screen door.

I left them on the LC all last night and today, just to see if they would stay. They did. And, we also had a light shower before I got home this evening. The next test will be to sit inside with the windows down while it's raining and see if there's any leakage. If so, I may have to get fancy and (try to) cut them to fit into the window track.

Good idea, where did you get the plastic stuff?

Had a few hours to kill so I figure I’ll follow the national forest map and explore west most edge of el dorado national forest. Here is a lake on the map I was trying to get to.

Got lost in the woods a little, some section was so tight I thought I was going to break a window. Needless to say I have new trail pin strips.

Overall pretty darn boring and didn’t even have much of a view, maybe it’s a good area for moonshine making.....won’t be visiting that area again.:meh:

I got my PHH bypass done, happy to have that nightmare out of the way. Real big pain in the ass getting both bolts for the pipe out of the intake manifold but I got it done. Nice new green stripe hose in, new rad hoses, and I did plug wires because why not. Gonna have a new exhaust made up for it very soon as well. Hoping the 18" Magnaflow I ordered won't be too loud, I'll leave the stock resonator in for good measure though. Have two new Flowmaster bullet cats coming too. Every other pipe and bracket needs replacement because the only thing on this truck that is rusty is the damn exhaust and half of it has fallen off its hangers

Knocked out a quick oil change and replaced the windshield washer diverter valve. Much improved front washer pressure and a wet rear carpet when I selected the rear washer. I'll have to find where it's leaking in back.:frown:

Looking pretty good, but i worry about two things I see:

#1, that gap to the tailgate is close enough that I can see it hitting when the bumper/frame flexes in relation to the body.

#2, with your swing-away spindle "upside down", it's much more likely to collect water in the bearings. It wouldn't be an immediate death sentence, but you'll have to watch it and keep them greased.

Installed Slee washer bottle relocation kit, maybe it’s my reading comprehension skills but instruction seems a little odd. Good quality kit except it’s missing an extension wire.

Install the second battery tray then found out the battery I have for it is too big!!!!

So what’s the biggest battery that could fit in that trey? I’m looking to install a marine deep cycle battery.

Marin?

:flamingo:

Mine’s a group 24 I think. I don’t really know what’s supposed to be stock. I think you run into issues with the posts bonking the hood if you go too big...

It comes with an “axle seal” that goes up top. There isn’t one for the bottom.

As far as flex, i might be too close. Not sure. Ill get it all done up but not coated, do some testing and pray it doesnt flex that far.

OEM radiator 1 yr old busted at the top plastic tank seam on my 96 80. Luckily caught it on the driveway. Read on Mud. Seems OEM radiators are done by others these days. Hate plastic on any radiators. Went with CSF 2517 all metal radiator. Top and bottom pans all metal. Soldered. Not glued. Took it for a test run. Nice steady mid gauge readings on the idiot gauge. Boys got at it with me.

Your skills are crazy, I always dig the rig pics.

Zona

Washed it in preparation for the weekend. It's been a while since she's seen soap. I almost thought about using tire shine too. Almost.

Purple? Where do you see that? Yeah the red intake tube is a bit...red but it was cheaper LOL!

I don’t have OCD like many here do.

Ha, I meant use power purple (it a degreaser/cleaner) as to clean you motor ;)
