Went for the first camping trip of the year. Being in CO, the mountains are close, but the plains have something to offer too. Pawnee National Grasslands! So much fun. Beautiful area.

Just got the 4x4 Labs bumper powder coated and installed before the trip. Also a maiden voyage for the Slee 4" kit. Very pleased.

This weekend was a major milestone in my cruiser build progression. Since I have owned it the electric seats have not worked. I have tried everything and must have spent a small fortune on those little gamiviti gears and caps as well as replacement seat motors from various mudders. Enough was enough and I was lucky a few months back to stumble across a set of manual leather seats from a local mudder. Leather was shot (like mine) but the seat frames we're perfect.

After a bit of back and forth with Lseat they agreed make me a set of replacement leather seat covers which arrived last week. I kept the old seat Foam because it is a different size from the electric seats but I repaired where needed and added an additional 1" of foam to the seat and lumber support. The Lseat covers slipped on nicely and we're fairly straightforward to button up.
End result is very comfortable manually adjustable seats for the first time in years.

Did the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Used OEM and loved the cylinder numbers on the plugs and cap. It was the granimals of tune ups. Easy peasy til the bottom throttle cable came off and it took me 45 min getting it back on. Also cleaned the tuna can under the air filter for the first time. About half full with impacted dirt.

Swapped a MPH for the KPH speedo because i was tired of doing the math and didn't want to rely on a gps speedo.
Took her to a mud pit and managed to submerge the tires and get water in the cab, so i had a bit of a clean up to do
egt's went up 200 degrees across the board after the mudpit. Took off the airbox and the problem was corrected, but the inside of the airbox was only damp with just a little mud on the bottom, So i'm thinking mud near the air intake causing some restricted flow. Having an airbox (now with snorkel) and intercooler made and installed this week (i hope), so was kind of perfect timing...i guess.

Installed and then retorqued rear drive shaft.

Put boots on my new shiny shocks.....anyone in Sacramento care to lend a hand and driveway/jacks stands? Don’t have all I need to do it by myself. I’ll bring beer, lots of it!

Didn't do much with 'elsie' this weekend, worked on SpecE30 stuff, but took her out for a drive and a wash. Currently running ethanol-free 87 octane gas that's available at local Maverik stations in the Reno area. Cruiser seems to really like it, and seems like fuel mileage will be improved...we will see at the end of this tank!

My wimpy MAF swaybar drop bracket failed after about 6 years during my last trip. Didn't notice it had broken til I was at home. It also broke the Energy Suspension swaybar poly bushing bracket . I had some machined aluminum spacers sitting in my garage so I thew them on with stock bushings. Nothing too exciting.

I had those same drop brackets. I thought they were home made. Mine broke too.

This weekend, Central NC mountains and a bunch of relics, what’s not to like?

Are those 2.0" body Kings?

2.5, King’s don’t ornmight not ever make a 2.0 bodied shocks because they thing since the 80s are so heavy the 2.0 bodies shocks won’t be strong enough. I was told they thought about doing it but wanted to used 2.5 bodied shock shaft but that never happened.

Over the past few weeks...converted to part time with the help of Georg @ Valley Hybrids who installed the spool at the same time my 3.11 gears went into the transfer case. I then ordered and installed the Aisin HD hubs and a set of Nitro axles. Really diggin' the part time, I like how the steering feels and less wear and tear on the front end.

Also redid the entire cooling system with OEM radiator, T-stat, all the hoses, water pump, idler pulley, heater valve, etc. Should be good for another 120K miles.

First trip out is 1000 mile drive to Moab, wheel it hard and 1000 miles back!

Picked up a pretty heavy duty home made roof basket for $150 this weekend, will post pics when I get it painted and mounted.

Gave the Cruiser a much needed wash, clay bar, and wax. Shines up pretty nice for a 21 year old ride.

Also got in on the metal tech may coupon code and ordered some sliders.
