Estimated time to replace the 4 main lamps?
Took me about an hour. I could do it in 30 minutes now that I know how the gauge cluster is set up, where the lights are and that you don't need to remove the cluster completely from the dash if you only need/want to replace the four main back-lighting bulbs.
You can literally reach behind the gauge cluster and 'feel' the bulb bases. You need only turn them a small amount less than a 1/4 turn and then just pull them straight out. You can leave all the harnesses connected and with your running lights turned on....test the LED's as you put them back in. IF they don't work (because of being polarity sensitive) just remove the bulb base, plug the LED back in 180° from before and it should light up when you reinstall it.
Start by removing the lower dash cover (below the steering wheel), 4 screws. then pop the next cover off (the one just above the steering wheel (no screws), rotate it to your left up and over the steering wheel and let it sit between the open door and A pillar (you don't have to completely remove it or detach the harnesses).
Next is the gauge cluster, 4 screws. The cluster has 4 white mounting tabs, that is where each screw will be.
Then you'll need to carefully wiggle the entire gauge cluster forward. You do not need (or want) to remove the clear plastic front. I had to push up slightly on my dash board to clear the top of the gauge cluster, but once that was cleared it moves forward (steering wheel tilted completely down). At that point you can also shift it to the left or right if needed, but I was able to reach behind it fine with it centered on top of the steering wheel clamshell. I'm 6'-5"....270 lbs. and have big forearms, but had no trouble just sitting in the drivers seat and reaching around it.
Study the photo below and familiarize yourself with the bulb locations and you should have no problem. The schematic (not mine, borrowed) is for a 93 but the main backing lights look to be the same on all year models.
