Just thinking about giving up all the modified trucks and just going stock 200.

They are great cars. Just a completely different vehicle than what the Land Cruiser originated as. Not saying it’s good or bad. Just different.

Twice I’ve been sitting across the table ready to pull the trigger on crazy good deals on 200s. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. They just aren’t me. I’m much more of a Red Wing boots and flannel type than a Wing Tip and Sport Coat type. I just felt out of sorts in it. The next deal that comes along I will probably grab it for my wife. Just for her convenience and comfort.

In reality, it’s probably do just fine for what I do. But I like parking wherever and brushing up against trees and boulders and laughing.

You do realize that in two years your truck will run slower with Apple? There's a class action lawsuit about how they engineered the OS to run slower. So when you can't make it to 60 mph in a reasonable time, you'll know why.

CL with APPLE quickly approaching a 1 Trillion market cap its not even a blip on the radar.

You won’t regret it. Im enjoying the 80, it’s growing on me.
But it really doesn’t compare to the 200. I’m at 215,000 miles on mine and it doesn’t make any squeaks or rattles. The power and comfort are amazing. You’ll feel Boss in it. It’s funny but there is a real attitude in the 80’s series forum about what they are and who you are if you drive them. Complete ignorance is all I can come up with... hahaha
It’s a LC guys, the pinnacle of what Toyota builds.

Meh, the 200's may be very well engineered, as they should be, but that's not the point. The 200's get lost in all the SUV noise that's out there today.
The 80 just looks cool. And with the age, most of the people buying them are enthusiasts. We love them.

All the built up 200 I've seen look good.
But the design itself it's so damn out of place in stock form. Fat pig for sure. It does not fit on the trail and it does not fit in at mall parking lot.

80 managed to strike a really nice balance with everything.
Well... except for cupholders.

There's one good slot for my beer. That's all I need.

Sorry but this is just a marketing gimmick. The water fording depth approved by MB is 60cm. Which is the top edge of the doorsill.

It isn't even as good as the "Not a Beast" 200 series. ;)

I knew it. The Jeep is better.

It’s the pinnacle of what Toyota builds, today. I look at it the same way I look at 100s. They are great for what they are. But make no mistake, they aren’t a Land Cruiser anymore.

May as well buy a Sequoia...

So if a Sequoia and 200 were in front of you, you'd hop in the Sequoia. Got it.

With the $40k extra I’d buy a used 70 Series that was meant to go off road.

I never mentioned $$
I don’t live in a world where money is not a thought in any decision, implied or not. Was just faced with this predicament and now have a Sequoia in the stable next to the 80. :frown:

I never mentioned $$

If money isn’t an issue then we wouldn’t be having an either/or discussion. I’d take one of everything.

The reality is that while the 200 May be a superior piece of equipment than the Sequoia there is no chance I’d pay the nearly 100% markup.

I’ve seen sequoia wheeling videos, sad sights indeed.

Well very busy past couple days

- Replaced every coolant hose in the engine bay with either OEM or Gates Green
- Replaced the PHH...I'm never ever ever doing that hose again. If it goes out in 20 years I'd rather pay someone
- Replaced T-stat
- Replaced fuel filter
- Flushed coolant system and filled up with Toyota Red cause why not finish all of this right

No progress pics, no time for that, but here's what it looked like after. Oh and the PHH was slam dunked into the garbage can.
