Do you have a recommendation for a specific type/size of welding rod for doing this?

Picked up a new steering column clamshell from the dealership today. This makes #10...

The previous one made it two weeks.

I could’ve bought a Slee Shortbus if it wasn’t for these damn things!

Maybe need to have @bhicks start printing them?!?!?!?!

Why do they keep breaking? Do people keep trying to steal it?

I’m 6’2”. My wife is 5’2”. If she moves the seat forward and I don’t realize it my knee takes it out. This time it was my son. He’s 5’6”. I let him take my 93 to go fishing.

It is always my fault. I know it’s stupid. You would think I would learn...

Have another plan instead of 3D printing...

Halfway through a seat swap. I got a killer deal on these 2011 VW Jetta seats. Leather, heaters. They are a manual slide, but have power recline. The rails are quite a bit wider than the cruiser ones. I did a bit of light hammering to the ridge in the floorboard where the front mount is closest to the ebrake handle because of the rail width. Without a bit of clearancing to that ridge, they sit too close to the door and the door won't close correctly. Driver seat is done and installed. Need to do the passenger seat tonight.

I needed to fabricate new mounts for them, but that was pretty straight forward. I need to hook up the electricals still but drove it to work this morning and the comfort and seating position is so much better for me. The seat bottom is probably about 1" higher than the stock seat bottoms so it will raise the driving position slightly. These seats have a 'tilt' adjustment for the bottom so with that adjusted lower it doesn't feel like you're sitting any higher.

Disclosure - Not an expert or close

6011 1/8" using positive ground works good, the same set up farmers use.

Since there's something in the works for 91-94 I'm interested.

A lofty goal of mine this weekend is to replace the rear shocks and add brake fluid to my res to stop the annoying BRAKE light that comes on more often than not. And maybe try to figure out where the brake fluid is going, if it is.

I need to do brakes all around, and install new springs... Who wants to come over and knock this thing out.......

Just curious I have no data to support it but I think the oil from the PVC (10cc/1000miles) strongly contributes to the blockage + PO401. So when I did my HG I cleaned everything along with common clogged passages and installed a catch can in the hopes it would prevent it down the road.

This is after 3 weeks
