How do you clean this crap off the wheel wells? It's been there forever. I'm not sure if it's the actual wheel well that's all screwed up or if it's something that's hardened on. I took a screwdriver and pried some off and it feels like a old rubber or something.

It is old undercoating to keep the metal from rusting. If you do take it off you will want to replace it.

View attachment 1537804 Got my rear (OEM) AC kit for my 97 cruiser it was expensive but worth itNow just need to look for a shop that customizes AC lines so I can get this working
Where'd you get that? I'm working on putting together a rear-AC evaporator and may consider this if I can get a hold of one.

No pics but my son took his 80 to go fishing by himself for the first time. Wow. To see the smile on his face was incredible. It was like traveling in time to when I was 16 and got my 92. My how time flies.

26 years and nothing has changed, except the driver.

Brake pads all around and discovered loose belts. Topped up with oil and gas.

I was waiting for UPS to deliver my brake rotors. Well they pulled up. Then they left. Box wasn't on the truck.

So they're going back to get them. Oh well, there's yardwork to do.

:bang:

That is in the general area of your leak. When i bought my truck the PO thought it had an oil leak. Turned out it was the PHH. Not my favourite first job on my cruiser.

Edit: worth checking how much coolant is in your radiator. Pull the radiator cap to check as the reservoir will give a false indication if the system is sucking air from else where.
That was the first repair on my 80. The previous owner claimed he changed out all the cooling hoses as he didn't want to risk the safety of his family. The original PHH split not long after getting it home. SMH.

Installed the Hellroaring backup battery system. Nice kit with great instructions. Took me about two days of on again off again work to complete it but got it right on the first try! Glad to see those green led's come on and no fuses popping.lol

Returned home after evacuating for hurricane Irma. Lots of damage, never knew that oak trees had so many branches. New fence installed. Nothing fun.

Tomorrow I begin work on a new project.

Sorry to hear glad everyone is OK

Finally (after the 3rd attempt) fixed the driver door lock. Once I opened it up I found good grease and it was relatively clean.

I checked the motor and one of the armatures was completely gone.

Fortunately I had a spare motor I bought a while ago for window duty. Spent an hour or so swapping it over (desoldering, soldering up new connections, cleaning up and greasing, etc) and got it all working again.

Nice to have that functional again! No pics as its a well-documented piece of work.

Material possessions can be replaced. Glad everyone is safe.

Side note: Did you get your fence from Lowe's? Looks like Emblem fence panels and posts...

Not this weekend, but recently, I had the privilege of swinging by Robbie's place to admire his work and shop, and to meet the infamous @beno !

It was a great visit and I can personally tell you that the Cruiser community has been extremely fortunate to have someone with his knowledge around.

A sample of what you'll see when you pull up to Robbie's shop.

Beno will find anything for you if it's Cruiser related. Thus far he's known every part number off the top of his head for everything I've ordered.
