The factory nuts are deformed locknuts.:meh:

Why would they DO that?

Mine had standard nuts with lock washers under them. Although I got mine at 196K, but they LOOKED original......

As usual, I stand corrected by the Master!

I've been using a basic cheapo grease gun with a hard swivel tip (45° increments), not a flexible line, with absolutely no trouble whatsoever. Are you guys running extreme lifts with crazy driveline angles or something, making zerk access more difficult? Just wondering as it seems like all 4 u-joints and both slip yokes are easy peasy on my rig.

It shouldn't be a problem. I must have put the u-joint in backwards when I replaced it.

Well..

Consider yourself lucky! I went with OEM replacements and, yeah, they're the same type of nut, just not deteriorated to hell and back. Hopefully I won't be kicking myself 120,000 miles from now...

For reference... there are much easier ways to rattle can 'camo' your rig. But, I go the difficult route.

I'm liking that more and more! Is that that fancy masking strip tape? That worked great with my Monstaliner job...
