Dang, Well, It's been a hot minute since an update in here, so I'll lump three weekends together.
First, spent a whole weekend doing a knuckle rebuild. All new seals and bearings, plus new rotors. Pads were changed a few thousand miles ago and were still in great shape. Would have been a bear without the help and knowledge shared in this forum. Fortunately it went 100% as planned and on time!
Second, finished installing my rear Pioneer speakers behind the factory grilles, and added this set of sliders from Slee. Spent some time searching for more cost effective units, but the price with shipping ended up being so close to Slee's product that it just made more sense to go with those. I'm quite happy with them, even if I haven't had a chance to really break them in yet.
And third, Spent a whole weekend with this guy, Bill Burke. The local club decided it would be advantageous to round up a big group of members and give them some more substantial trail leadership training with the hope of leading better and more organized trail runs, executing fewer and smarter recoveries, and really getting some better trail leaders all around. If anyone's heading to Cruise Moab this year, all I can say is that it should be pretty awesome. I wish I could make it.
Burke is a pretty great guy. His approachable and casual yet no-bull**** attitude was great. I was more than happy to be able to share some of his knowledge. The group was well rounded too. We had almost everything from a Frontier, an FJ Cruiser, 40's, 80's, 100's, a 200, a Runner, and Burke's Defender 90. The Mr Red Fox even showed up for an afternoon.
And this was a stone's throw from my campsite for the weekend. Everyone that didn't camp- you missed out! SUCKERS!
So, yeah. Good stuff!
