Storage drawers arrived from Oz. I'll test fit these in my wife's 80 and then my 100. Have a set going in a customers 200 as well.

Dang, Well, It's been a hot minute since an update in here, so I'll lump three weekends together.

First, spent a whole weekend doing a knuckle rebuild. All new seals and bearings, plus new rotors. Pads were changed a few thousand miles ago and were still in great shape. Would have been a bear without the help and knowledge shared in this forum. Fortunately it went 100% as planned and on time!

Second, finished installing my rear Pioneer speakers behind the factory grilles, and added this set of sliders from Slee. Spent some time searching for more cost effective units, but the price with shipping ended up being so close to Slee's product that it just made more sense to go with those. I'm quite happy with them, even if I haven't had a chance to really break them in yet.

And third, Spent a whole weekend with this guy, Bill Burke. The local club decided it would be advantageous to round up a big group of members and give them some more substantial trail leadership training with the hope of leading better and more organized trail runs, executing fewer and smarter recoveries, and really getting some better trail leaders all around. If anyone's heading to Cruise Moab this year, all I can say is that it should be pretty awesome. I wish I could make it.

Burke is a pretty great guy. His approachable and casual yet no-bull**** attitude was great. I was more than happy to be able to share some of his knowledge. The group was well rounded too. We had almost everything from a Frontier, an FJ Cruiser, 40's, 80's, 100's, a 200, a Runner, and Burke's Defender 90. The Mr Red Fox even showed up for an afternoon.

And this was a stone's throw from my campsite for the weekend. Everyone that didn't camp- you missed out! SUCKERS!

So, yeah. Good stuff!

Sadly......before.

Not sure that has any real meaning. I graduated from high school in 1974 and there are plenty of Cruisers out there made before 1974 and even more after.

To whoever was out in Dedeckera Canyon/Steel Pass/Eureka Dunes out in Death Valley this weekend.. you guys had some nice videography equipment and if you saved any footage of my group I'd love to see it. We were rolling in my 5th gen 4runner, a Lexus gx470, and my brother's wife's Grand Cherokee.. of course the time I'm not in my 80 I run into a group of 80's out in the middle of nowhere .

PS thanks for the assistance.

Installed the rear coils and shocks. No more Prerunner stance. It looks a bit stinkbuggy in the pic but that's just un-level ground. The fender gaps are pretty uniform front to back (haven't taken time to measure) Took Yojimbo for a brief shakedown run through Trabuco Creek toward Holy Jim and I'm feeling pretty good about the TJM 50mm/Icon 2.0 combo. I do however have a new noise coming somewhere from the the driveline that sounds like the rear drive shaft rubbing something (U-joint s*** the bed maybe). We'll see what that's all about this coming weekend.

Must not be Trail Rated

I posted recently about a little parking lot mishap that started with this:

Which led me down a rabbit hole, and I came out of the hole today....I think...well almost

Finally finished installing the leather kit for my front seats that I've been putting off for almost two years. Yeah, it's a bit of a pain in the ass to install, but completely worth it.

My seats weren't in horrible condition, but the leather had gotten very hard and my wife was complaining that the seats were uncomfortable. I installed new foam and seat heaters while I was at it. They came out better than I expected.

My only previous experience with upholstery work was on a '68 Cutlass that I was restoring, but these seats were a bit more challenging than those simple bench seats on the Cutlass.

Where did you buy the new seat cushions?

Blue Fan Hub Clutch mod complete. Looking forward to monitoring for improvements. Replaced with 40ml of 20k Losi and adjusted to 95-degrees.

You went from black to blue??

I got the drawers installed on my customers 200. Spot on fit, quality construction and operation of drawers is excellent. I'll get them installed in the 80 by this weekend.

ALSO, YES! there will be a group buy on these. I've had quite a bit of interest from the 200 crowd and enough to warrant a buy. Another MUD member will be setting this up for me and will release pricing, production and shipping lead times.
