Was that your white 80 we saw?

@cruiserdan is there. He posted his cell number in my thread in my signature. Last page.
Not me, I'm a "champagne" pink panty. I was going to go to the museum yesterday, but Facebook said they were closed. We hit a Brazilian churrascaria for lunch instead. Maybe next time we're in town. . .

Had a stumble then die and a code 41. Threw out the bat signal and @MDarius answered the call. I was in Elko, NV on my way to SLC. He pulled one of his parts 95 and had it ready and waiting for us when we got there. Along with a whole mess of food and brownies! Incredible. This is what makes MUD great!

Saw this happen in front of us on 80 on the way from Elko to SLC. Could've been much worse. Busted out the triangles and flares to alert cars as this was a tight, blind turn.

Not technically the weekend but part of this trip. This is up in Tahoe. The most beautiful place on earth.

My son catching a bass on Clearlake in California. The whole reason for the trip!

Got a little bit of a taste of Rubicon. Not much but a little taste. Didn't go far because we were alone and we all know it's not smart to wheel unknown trails alone...

We're back in SLC. Hoping to go to the museum in the morning... I've been practicing my Hemi knock so @cruiserdan will let us in. If not we may just swing by @cruiseroutfit and check things out there. Then on our way to @reevesci...

Yes, wheeling alone is bad. Dutch oven cooking is good. Lesson learned. ;) Glad I could help! Keep the rubber side down and your birfields filled.

Are you still looking for the mud she mentioned, just like I am?
So much mud, took forever to get it cleaned off. Would have posted pictures of that.....but since this is IH8BIKINIS, opted not to post those photos.

Hiked back out and hit a newer fun funky local brewery, Fonta Flora, in Morganton to load up some brews to celebrate the new year with

Wheeled a couple hours of pitch dark forest service roads to camp, ended up going all the way through wilson creek wilderness area to a spot somewhat closer to civilization due to the winds ripping through the blue ridge last night and knowing the chainsaw was at home

Woke up this am and cooked a new years breakfast and java on the tailgate and mapped out the day..... looking for dotted lines in the delorme back roads atlas

And departed for Boone NC via a County "road" that proved fun and more challenging than expected.

All in all a great way to ring in the new year. Wishing everyone a great 2017 to come...... now get out and enjoy the hidden gems local to you.
Just got home from a week in the Boone/Banner Elk area last night! Would have loved to find some back roads like that, but was alone and in a GX not the 80:frown:

Installed a wheelskin on my beat wheel. Feels much better. Also installed my cheapo mv50 compressor under the hood . where my tossed out abs unit was.

Looks nice! Is Wheelskin the brand? Link?

Hey Phil. Yes that's the brand. $60. Takes some time to stitch. Took about 1.5 hrs.
I'd really like to make it out to go Wheeling with you again. Was fun. I'll stitch your wheelskin on at no cost...lol.

You need to fill your 80 tank and head out west. Bring your Passport we are only 3.5 hours form the beach, where drinking and driving is legal.

▼This▼ kind of driving goes on for miles

Started out the new year by leaving he house at 3am to go wheel up to the black butte trail head and then hike to the summit for sunrise. We made it within 1.5 miles of the trail head before we couldn't continue anymore. The hike was amazing even though we got turned around about 3/4 of a miles from the summit because of weather and because I had my 7 year old son with me (who was pissed at me for not letting him summit). All in all was an awesome day and a great way to start the new year.

Not quite as deep as above, but we got some snow in San Diego county... ;)
Went up to the local mountains to check out the snow with the rest of San Diego...traffic jammed up there. People were just stopped on the side of the roads jumping over private property fences and sledding around. It was like woodstock or something.

Then we went to an actual day use area and campground where you are supposed to pay a whopping $5 to use the land legally and it was completely empty. We had the place to ourselves and instead dropped a $20 to support the National Forest service!

Spend the few weeks before Xmas getting a few of the several outstanding issues with the truck sorted out before the lady and I left Seattle for a few days in and around Banff in the Canadian Rockies. New exhaust piping from the muffler back, new LED lights in the cab, addressed a water leak into the rear drivers side quarter panel., and I finally built a new lid for the drawers.

Does anyone know what this harness is for? Photo is of the rear passenger cargo area.
